iClever 6 Port USB Travel Wall Charger-1

Is it me, or does just about every device I own now plug into a USB charger? My cell phone, my camera, my Bluetooth headphones, even my flashlight batteries. I love my devices, but I never seem to have enough USB ports or USB ports with enough power to charge my items in a timely manner. iClever knows this is an issue and has developed the iClever 6-port USB Travel Wall Charger.

As the name implies, the iClever is a powered 6-port USB charger. This to me is important because I have become less dependent on my computer for the downloading of data/information to my device and more dependent on using the computer’s USB ports to charge my devices. If are like me, you have an older system and you know the USB ports may not be hacking it. The iClever 6-port USB Travel Wall Charger has the following specs from the iClever website.

  • Input: 100-240V 50/60Hz.
  • Output: DC 5V/10A Max ( 2.4A Max per port)
  • Size: 100*69*27mm(L*W*H) 3.93 x 2.71 x 1.06 inches
  • Weight: 180g

The top of the charger is rounded and has no significant features.

The left and right sides of the iClever 6-port USB Travel Wall Charger are the same with no real features except for the iClever name and logo on the right side.

The bottom of the charger has the model information and the input and output data.

The front of the iClever 6-port USB Wall Charger has the six 5V 2.4A USB outlets. The front also has a small green light to let you know the unit is powered on.

The back of the charger has the receptacle for the power cord. The power cord and receptacle looks like it would fit the plug end of a laptop power converter.

The charging ports are spaced out well enough to allow you to add and remove your USB cords without any real hassles.

So, what is my bottom line here? Aside from the funny name (I still do not see how this is a wall charger) I think the iClever 6-port Travel Wall Charger is a good product. Although it is not the most compact USB charger around, the size and weight make it more than adequate for traveling. Fit and finish are very good and the rubberized outer covering should help protect the charger from dings and scratches. Available at the time of this writing for $25.99 from Amazon, the price is in line with similar products. To be honest I cannot tell how well the smart technology really works on this product, but I will tell you it did seem to charge most of my items as fast or faster than just plugging them into a generic charger. So, I have to say I like the iClever 6-port USB Travel Wall Charger.

  2. Just a note – you neglect to specifically point out that while the unit has 6 2.4A ports, the entire unit can only provide 10A of juice at any given time. You cannot provide 2.4A through all six ports simultaneously.

  3. I may get pounced on for this, but technically this isn’t a wall charger. A wall charger is one that plugs into and stays on the wall. A desktop charger is one that has a plug that goes to the wall but needs to sit on a desk or table when it’s in use.

I have a couple of the Anker chargers similar to this; love them — they are great on family trips, especially. I do wish they’d make a small adapter, though, to allow this to “right angle” plug into a socket, so I could plug it in at the kitchen counter where all our devices seem to congregate.
