Kindle Reader Windows 8

For a true cross-platform interoperability reading experience you really can’t beat Amazon’s “eco-system”.  Well Windows 8 users won’t miss out on their Amazon books either, as Amazon releases its Kindle Reader for Windows 8. Available from the Windows 8 app Store, the reader supports both Windows 8 and Windows RT.  And it supports all the functionality we’ve come to expect from Amazon’s reader client, including syncing your furthest page, bookmarks, notes and highlights across all your Kindle devices.

As usual, the reader application is free.

  2. The plethora of Kindle readers for my iPad, iPhone, Mac computer, and Windows computer is what keeps me a loyal Kindle buyer.

The only thing I wish is that my morning subscription to the NY Times was available on any of those readers.

  3. Amazon’s wide range of books, international support (important for us non-USers 🙂 ), and their whole eco-system is what keeps me with Amazon. I mean people completely overlook the ability to send documents easily to your (cross platform) devices via multiple means and other functionality. I bought my 75 year old father a Kindle for his birthday and just kept it on my account for a while. If I bought a book I knew he’d like too I could just send it to his Kindle, tell him to connect to WiFi and he had it. Same thing with my kids and wifes Kindle/iPad/Android tablet as well. And now both my non-technical wife and father can use their Kindles to get onto the Store and purchase their own books. All too easy 🙂
