This Kickstarter project has only a few days left in its funding period, but it’s already good to go, having reached more than 1400% of its funding goal.  The 1Q is a compact Bluetooth speaker is made of wood because it’s a renewal material and because wood cabinets produce richer, warmer sound.  And for each speaker purchased, a tree will be planted through the Arbor Day Foundation – that’s enough wood to make 1,000 more 1Qs.  The speaker has a 10-hour rechargeable internal battery, or it can be powered with the included USB charger.  You connect your audio device with either the 3.5mm audio in connector or with Bluetooth.  When used individually, each 1Q produces mono sound through it’s specially-designed 6.5W, full-range 2″ speaker.  When you connect two 1Q cubes together, they automatically switch to stereo mode with left and right channels.  The 1Q is available in walnut, bamboo, or a limited Kickstarter edition red beech.  A minimum pledge of $95 gets you one bamboo or walnut 1Q; this is a savings of $25 off the retail price.  Higher pledges are required for the red beech or for pairs of 1Qs.  Shipping is planned for this fall.
