New from STM is their Velo laptop messenger bag. Packed with lots of organizational features, yet spacious enough to just toss stuff in. The Velo could be a solid daily commute bag for your laptop, tablet, accessories, jacket, shoes, hat, raincoat, keys, journal, pens, water bottle, lunch, manicure set… OK, maybe it won’t hold ALL that, but it looks pretty roomy and organizational-y. Small for 13″ laptops, Medium for 15″ laptops and available in black and mushroom colors, each for about $100 from online sellers Altrec.com and eBags.com. Got a favorite laptop and gear hauling messenger?

reviews please? the grab-it pack looked well until I got one. then it started coming apart (after the first day of use no less.) the second one did the same, so they both met the Mighty Bin.
@andix – I’d love to take a crack at reviewing STM’s new Velo bag, but this was a news item, not a review. Maybe in the future, so stay tuned!
Also, FYI below is a link to my review of STM’s Revolution laptop backpack. I found it to be quite well made, durable and packed with features.

Is this the Grab-It pack to which you are referring? I don’t have any experience with it.

ya. that’s the one Grab-it Pack… I tried reviewing it for The Gadgeteer two years ago and the producer/company owner was “very upset” that I pointed out the cr@ppy build quality, despite photo proof and all. so I gave up publishing the review, although both the packs (one bought and one sent as ‘replacement’) started coming apart in less than 24 hours of use.
however the Velo looks awesome, and that’s why I was calling for a review – put the bag through its paces and recommend it. or not. I think my bag mania is getting out of hand here – so I’m trying to control it as much as possible. 🙂
“Bag mania” — Ah yes, my friend. I have it as well. On a constant quest to find the “perfect” bag, but thus far unfulfilled. I’ll just have to keep looking…and trying new ones!
shoot. I ordered it.
…if STM promises not to lash out at me for pointing out the (possible) flaws I’ll review it. 🙂 I honestly don’t want to re-live the Grab-It experience.
