I was flipping through a CyberGuys catalog over the weekend and couldn’t help but smile when I saw the RadTech Dock Extender for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It took me back over 12yrs ago when I reviewed The Bridge for the PalmPilot. It’s true what they say, “everything old is new again…”. The Dock Extender is a small 30 pin adapter that plugs into the end of your original charge/sync cable and gives you a slimmer connector that more easily plugs into the bottom of your iPhone when it’s in a case (including Apple’s own bumper case). If you find that you have to remove your favorite case whenever you want to charge or sync, grab this $19.95 adapter and that problem will be a thing of the past.

the markup on iOS gear is truly a thing to behold…
@Jason What’s interesting is that I did a search on amazon and found the same adapter for $27.95. Now that’s markup! I’ve not looked, but ‘m wondering if you can find a similar adapter on a site like Deal Extreme for just a couple of bucks?
I just got one!!! You beat me to it!
I will confirm that with this adapter, the iPhone 4, with the bumper case, will fit in the Original iPad keyboard dock. Happy typing!
This item only costs $5 more than the similar item for the PalmPilot to which Julie linked. And that was 13 years ago. Hardly an iOS premium.
Now if they’d only update the OS for our PalmPilots we be good to go 🙂
or just take a dremel tool to the case
