This USB Thermometer from Brando lets you measure and track the temperature of your computer. The software is for Windows XP/Vista/7 only, and it will log temperature data for a computer. It can show graphs of current temperature or average temps, and it can show real time temp. It can even send periodic emails with temperature information or send an email only when the temperature reaches an “alarm” level. If you don’t want to install the software, simply press and hold for 3 seconds either the Caps Lock or Num Lock key to see the current reading. The USB Thermometer (Gold) is $14.00 at Brando.

And here i was hoping it would read room temperature.
Yeah I don’t get it either, a free software can do this, why an USB device??

heh, i checked the brando entry directly and there it mentions being able to read ambient temperature. Maybe i will have a look at it after all (wonder if anyone created linux support for it).
That would be pretty handy if I had a laptop. It’s a good idea.
