The MCR-040 micro component system from Yamaha offers a lot of functionality in a small package. There’s a CD player, clock with timers, FM radio, an iPod dock on top, and USB and mini jack inputs for other audio devices. The speakers are 4″ with full-range cones without magnetic shielding. There’s 15W per channel, and Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology enhances the sound. “Advanced YST is a unique system in which the speaker and amplifier work together to cancel out impedance so the speaker unit has a perfectly linear motion. Advanced YST helps to ensure the highest levels of sound pressure and overall performance.” The iPod and the USB device are charged by the MCR-040. The system is available in ten colors.
