I’m guessing that there are 100’s of fitness related iPhone apps in the app store right now, but there aren’t many hardware/app solutions other than the Nike+ which has been designed to track running and walking. Now there’s an alternative. It’s the Wahoo system which makes your iPhone, Touch or iPad compatible with ANT+ sensors. Wahoo uses a Fisica sensor key or Fisica sensor case to allow it to communicate with various heart rate straps, foot pods, bicycle cadence monitors, weight scales, bicycle power meters, and any other sensor that transmits data using the standard ANT+ wireless protocol. Don’t have an ANT+ compatible device? No problem, Wahoo also sells heart rate sensors, bicycle cadence / speed sensors and a stride sensor. Along with quite a few applications that have been created for this platform, you can use these tools to get in shape and stay in shape. The Fisica sensor key is available now for $79.99 and the Fisica case is currently available for pre-order for $139.00. Bundles of the sensor key and sensors are also currently available.
