For the past couple of months, I’ve been using a combination of a mobile phone and a PDA instead of just my Treo 650 smartphone. First I used the Sony w600i, then the Motorola Pebl, then back to the Sony and now I’m back to the Treo. I love a lot of things about the Sony. The display, the reception and the interface. However, didn’t much like the rotating keypad, or the overall thickness of the device. As for the Pebl, I pretty much hated everything about it except for the form factor and the gimmicky magnetic screen flip. And at the same time, I hated the gimmicky screen flip. In the end, I just couldn’t deal with having 2 separate devices. When I was using the phone, I needed my PDA, and when I was using my PDA, I needed the phone. So now, back to the Treo I go.
What is interesting though is the fact that during the same time that I have been making the move from 2 devices back to 1, Judie has been starting the move from 1 device back to 2. Maybe after seeing this post, she’ll write her own about that move.
