palmOne Treo 650 Smartphone

Do you have a palmOne Treo 650 smartphone
and wish you could buy a Vaja iVolution case for it, but don’t have the moola?
itzkitz is back, this time with the
treokitz. Like their iPodkitz, this
kit comes with more than just a case. You also get a sync cable, removable belt
clip and belt clip post, a screen protector and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm earphone jack
adapter, all boxed up in a nifty metal tin.

The retractable USB sync / charge cable is identical to the
Brando sync / charge cable.
Although it lacks a sync button like the
Seidio cable, it works
fine.

The case is the most important part of this kit. Available in Red or Black,
this is a hard shell case that looks very similar to the
iVolution Treo case offered by
Vaja.

While the Treo is in the case, you have access to all the features of the
phone. Small cutouts on the front and back for the earphone and speaker are
lined with a metal mesh. There is one large cutout on the face of the case for
the display, navigation button, application buttons and keyboard. I’m not sure
if I got a ‘bad’ case, or if this is the norm, but I found that the cutout on my
eval case was not quite aligned properly. The top edge of the cutout hangs over
the display a little bit, and the bottom edge hangs below the phone too far.

Even though the fit isn’t perfect, it makes me excited to see that there is
now a choice for this style of case. Vaja’s are wonderful and better, but not
everyone can afford one. This case and kit from itzkitz is a step in the right
direction for those of you that want something similar without emptying your
wallet.

Case, screen protector, sync cable, belt clip and earphone adapter all included

  2. :wow: My Treo650Kitz arrives today, May 19th (order placed May 7th)
Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to see this Vxjx wannabe case.

Having read the review, I didn’t expect too much for the price.
But I was disappointed 🙁 to see that the case I was sent shows poor workmanship
    (or is it QC)
There is a long split along the upper and lower part of the case with a gap of app 2mm. on one side revealing the interior lining.

I email customer support for a replacement, of course

  3. cliq:

I had no problems with workmanship other than the fact that the case is a bit too open at the bottom. I even commented about that in the review. Please let me know how the replacement turns out.

  4. Update
I received an email from itzkitz in response to mine about the Treo650 case, part of it reads

“…..Some incorrect cases have indeed been dispatched & we will organise a replacement for you next week.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

I am not the only unlucky ones, then

Well, I have waited this long for a case, I suppose I could bear another couple of weeks or so.

Meanwhile, I have been using the case that come free with my 20MB ipod and it fits the Treo650 like a glove. (I have a Vaja case for the iPod)

  5. Update June 14th.

After waiting nearly a month, today I got email from ItzKitz, offer me a refund instead of replacement.
(apparently, all Treo 650 cases are sold out)
