Kitchen Safe – No willpower, no problem

If you need a little extra help when it comes to dieting willpower, the Kitchen Safe has your back. Just place anything in the BPA-free 3.5 quart container, set the easy to use timer for 1 minute up to 10 days. Once the timer is set, the lid is locked. Presto, instant willpower! In addition to keeping snacks locked up, the Kitchen Safe can also be used to secure other items like gaming controllers, phones, etc.

The Kitchen Safe is powered by 2 AA batteries which will last up to 6 months. The container can also be placed in the refrigerator (but not the freezer) if you want to store perishable food items. The Kitchen Safe is priced at $49.95 and is available now.

These look just like the Oxo GoodGrips containers. Is that a coincidence?

Why reinvent the wheel when you have 90% of what you need to get started?

Kitchen Safe — Bad design. By removing the batteries – which are located OUTSIDE the ‘safe,’ the counter is rest to zero. At that point, simply set the ‘locked safe’ to 1 minute and wait. Sixty seconds later, Presto, the Kitchen Safe is now open. Conclusion: the Kitchen Safe will keep any 5 year-old out of the cookie jar, maybe.

Saw this thing on Shark Tank rerun – the one Shark who called it kitschy crap was right. Selling on Amazon for $70 regular, $60 with 14% discount. Even as a filler gift I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for that thing. And as someone pointed out removing the batteries allows you to circumvent the clock. The size is small – you can but several packs of cigarettes or half a bag or Oreos in there but then when it opens you can pig out or chain smoke the cigarettes. Or just run out and buy MORE !

People who pay $60 or $70 for this (not counting tax or shipping) have money to burn. And that’s just for ONE. As for kids. Parents are the ultimate SAFE. You can buy a lockable cabinet or install a lock on a regular cabinet for far less than one of these things.
