Touchtype Case for iPad and the Apple Wireless Keyboard

There’s been some discussion recently on The Gadgeteer about alternative keyboard cases for the iPad – something to accommodate the full-sized Apple wireless keyboard and that can be used on your lap as well as a tabletop.  There’s a Kickstarter project that addresses part of this wishlist; unfortunately, it’s not going to work on your lap.  The Touchtype case carries both your iPad and Apple keyboard in one sleek folio.  The keyboard stows under the iPad until it’s needed.  The iPad is held in by elastic straps, which will stretch to hold any version of the iPad.  The Touchtype folds to form a horizontal stand for the iPad (even while the keyboard is stored inside), and an extra set of straps allows you to orient the iPad vertically.  The Touchtype is available in gray polyurethane or in black or espresso leather.

The Touchtype case is already fully funded, with 29 days left to go.  There are still “early backer specials” available, so you can get a gray polyurethane case for $47;  when these are gone, you’ll have to pledge $52 for this version.  A pledge of $85 is required for the espresso leather or $95 for the black leather.
