Fix Your iPhone 4′s Antenna Problem Without a Case

on July 21, 2010 12:00 pm

If your iPhone 4 suffers from the “death grip” antenna problem, you’ve certainly heard by now that Apple will be giving you a free case.  If you prefer to use your devices without a case, you probably won’t be happy even with the relatively small Bumper case.  The CoolDecal shop at Etsy is offering a simple vinyl decal that wraps around the metal and creates a buffer between your hand and the antenna.  The decal is high quality, precision-cut, self-adhesive vinyl.  It’s available in a variety of colors and patterns.  If you decide you don’t like the decal, it removes easily and leaves behind no adhesive.  The vinyl decal wraps are $9.99 each at CoolDecal.

I love this. True innovation and they probably did it without a building full of engineers. LOL Of course Apple had to identify the problem… :-)

No one believed me this wasn’t a deathdrip issue! it was a shortening issue. No, not like crisco! OK, I am just kidding.

This seems to be the most unobtrusive solution as of yet!

search decals on etsy as their is, at least, one other supplier of similar product. Mine has yet to arrive, but I ordered one that glows in the dark. 2 for $9-. I’d prefer clear to let the design show through. Right now I’m using a 1″ piece of transparent tape and it’s working.
