Well ok, it might not be quite best friend friendly, but it tries. I was surprised when I recently asked people for ideas and suggestions on what they think would make The Gadgeteer better, that several people said: A mobile version of the site. We’ve actually had a mobile version for a couple of years now. It’s not fancy, but then mobile sites aren’t supposed to be fancy. It is a bare bones portal into The Gadgeteer, which includes links to the last 5 reviews, my latest gear diary entry and the last 2 gadget spotlight postings. One improvement which is on the way will be to include the latest comments with the reviews and gear diary entries. So give it a try and let me know what you like and what you don’t like about it.

  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. I have been a keen reader since my first gadget – the Palm III. Its interesting that you posted the Rex as a sample archive article, since I remember taking that device out for a 30-day trial and found it lacking input prowess.

The mobile version is my main method of reading The Gadgeteer, via Avantgo on my O2 mini pda/phone. I just have to log in the main site sometimes to catch the pics that sometimes don’t load. All is good, keep up the good, nay, great work!
