Barnes & Noble is introducing a free application designed to lighten your load this school year. NOOKstudy works on PC or Mac (no nook required), and lets you instantly download eTextbooks and save up to 40%. You’ll also have access to 1 million other books. With Nookstudy, you can keep your textbooks, class handouts, and notes on your computer. You can have have multiple books open at once, zoom in on full-color illustrations, take notes directly in your texts and mark them with tags for easy searching. You can even integrate your web research into NOOKstudy. You can expect NOOKstudy in August, and you can sign up to be notified when it’s available – just leave your name, email, and let them know if you are a student or a professor. Sounds like it’s aimed at college students; I wish they’d have a version for high school students, too.
