NEWS – Collapsible cups aren’t a new invention. I can remember having a little plastic one when I was a kid. More recently, we’ve seen the Hydaway silicone collapsible cups. But the Zylch cup improves upon those designs because it is made of double-walled stainless steel for insulation. The 15-ounce Zylch also has a twist lock mechanism to ensure your cup is leakproof and doesn’t fall flat! The Zylch comes with a lid and a sleeve that doubles as a carrying case. Available in silver or black, the Zylch bundle costs only $39.99 when ordering from zylch.co.

I was a Kickstarter backer for this project, and this one was definitely a MISS. The end product is nothing like the concept–too wide, clunky, with no ergonomic pinch feaure at the base to make it easy to extend. It takes a long time to deploy, a long time to fold again; it leaks easily with hot beverages, requiring a lot of torque on the lid to seal; you have to put your dirty fingers inside it to expand it; if it is wet after using it, and you collapse it, you are getting the liquid on your hands. This is not a carry it around with you cup, it is more of a cup for RVers or boaters, who want something that can be stored away smaller.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, when you do take the time to expand or collapse the cup, it squeeeeeks as the silicon gasket seals rub against the metal sections.
Well that’s disappointing! I keep looking for a small bottle or cup with a lid that I can take with me when I walk or run errands. I am glad I didn’t order one! Thank you for letting us know.
They sent me 2 cups to make amends for not producing the smaller size I originally requested; I donated them to charity.
