REVIEW – Have you seen the Dash mini waffle makers that were very popular a year or two ago? That’s not all Dash makes when it comes to small affordable kitchen gear. Today I am going to show you the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer. Ready, set, mix!
What is it?
The Dash Everyday Stand Mixer is a small 6-speed mixer for everyday cooking and baking tasks.

Design and features
The Dash Everyday Stand Mixer is available in 5 colors (White, Black, Blue, Pink, and Red). As you can see, I was sent the red version.
The mixer’s “body” is made of plastic and it’s pretty lightweight. Light enough that you might think that it’s more of a toy than a real kitchen appliance. After using it for several mixing tasks, I have mixed feelings concerning the size and features.
The Dash Everyday Stand Mixer does feature a head tilt design that allows you to raise the head of the mixer in order to more easily insert and remove the beaters and mixing bowl.
Pressing the tilt release button on the side of the mixer’s motor head unlocks the head so that you can pivot it upwards.
The beaters easily lock in place and when you need to eject them, there’s a beater eject button on the top of the mixer’s motor head that allows you to easily do that.
Included with the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer is an aluminum mixing bowl. Inside the bowl is an embossed MAX fill line. Filling the bowl to the line with water reveals that it has a 7-cup capacity.
The bottom of the mixing bowl has an attached mount that allows it to lock into the rotating base of the stand mixer.
To lock the bowl into the rotating base, you just have to set the bowl on the base and twist it until it’s in the locked position.
In the image above, you will notice that there’s a small lever at the bottom below the mixing bowl.
This lever will shift the mixing bowl left or right. This is useful when certain types of doughs or batters get stuck against the sides of the bowl.
The bottom of the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer has 5 suction cups that help keep it from sliding around on your kitchen counter. This is useful since the mixer itself is pretty lightweight.
The Dash Everyday Stand Mixer has 6 speeds. There’s a speed control slider switch on the motor head. When the speed control is in the 0 position, the mixer is powered off. According to the manual, you should not allow the mixer to run at any speed for more than 10 minutes at a time.
Enough talking (typing?), let’s mix something! How about some chocolate chip pumpkin bread? Heck yeah! We (Jeanne is really the baker in the family) started out with the wet ingredients of eggs and butter and then added sugar, salt, baking soda, pumpkin puree, flour, and finally the chocolate chips. Her recipe was for 2 loaves of bread. I asked if that was normal because the mix was slightly over the capacity of the mixing bowl’s max of 7 cups. She said it was. Well ok then…

- Allow the head to tilt back further for easier beater and bowl removal during mixing
Final thoughts
I have several Dash mini cookers that work great for making single serve waffles/chaffles, etc. So I was anxious to see what Dash’s larger products would be like. I’m happy to say that the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer works pretty well for what it is. I was very surprised by how much power it had and I didn’t even use it at more than speed 2 most of the time I was testing it!
As long as you don’t expect the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer to be a KitchenAid mixer which costs hundreds of dollars more and as long as you realize that this mixer has a small capacity, the Dash stand mixer would be fun for kids learning to bake or someone on a limited budget and limited storage space who likes to make easy work of mixing a cake, brownies, etc.

It’s cute, but we have a hand-held electric mixer that takes up even less space and doesn’t need a dedicated bowl so can use with any size we want. Though it’s true I haven’t used my Sunbeam stand mixer in years, so if I wanted one for occasional complex mixing I might get the Dash and donate the bigger one.
How does this stand up to a KitchenAid mixer?
Ha! You can’t compare this very very budget stand mixer to a KitchenAid mixer which costs much more. This is for light mixing jobs in a small kitchen.
