REVIEW – Sometimes it’s nice to be able to add a decorative light source to an area in your home without needing to worry if there’s a power outlet nearby. For those times, a rechargeable LED lamp like the Power Beauty LED Table Lamp is a potential option. They sent me 2 of their LED lamps to try out. Let’s turn them on and take a closer look.
What is it?
The Power Beauty LED Table Lamp is a small multi-color indoor/outdoor lamp with a built-in battery that recharges via a micro USB cable.
What’s in the box?

Design and features
The Power Beauty LED Table Lamp has 3 parts that need to be assembled before you can use the lamp. Don’t worry, it’s a painless and quick setup. The main part is the 4.5 inch diameter lamp itself with the built-in LEDs, charging port, and power controls. The shade has an aluminum outer shell with a frosted underside.
The underside of the lamp has a threaded socket for the stand as well as the micro USB power port. Yes, you read that correctly, this lamp uses a micro USB port.
The user controls are located on the top of the lamp. The controls are touch controls with the power toggle in the center which doubles as a dimmer switch with your hold it for more than a second. There’s also a color chooser ring around the power button.
To control the lamp, you tap the center button to turn on the lamp. Tap again and it will switch to color cycling. Tap it a 3rd time and the lamp turns off. While the lamp is powered on, you can press and hold the button to dim/brighten the light or you can run your finger around the color ring to choose a color.
The lamp’s stand has two pieces that screw together without the need for any tools. Once assembled, the Power Beauty LED Table Lamp stands 15 inches tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the lamp.
With the lamp’s battery charged (it takes 5-6 hours to fully recharge), it’s time to see what it can do.
Tap the power button to turn it on and by default, it will light up at a medium brightness level with a warm white light. Running your finger around the color ring will allow you to customize the light color. The images above show the light in a lit room.

The image above on the left is the Power Beauty LED Table Lamp at the dimmest level and the image on the right is the brightness level.
You’re probably wondering if this lamp is bright enough to be useful or should only be considered a decorative lamp. Since the Power Beauty LED Table Lamp is so small, I wouldn’t want to use it as my only light source, but as a small task lamp, it’s surprisingly useful when used directly over whatever you need to see better.
There is one annoying “feature” of this lamp and that’s the fact that it doesn’t remember settings. If you change the brightness level or color and turn it off, when you turn it back on, it will be at the default brightness level and warm white color.
According to the manual, the lamp has a working time of 8 hours if it’s at the brightest setting, 15 hours if the brightness is set to 50% and in RGB mode, the lamp will run for over 15 hours.

What I like
- Well made
- Can be used indoors or outdoors
- Easy controls
What I’d change
- Save settings between power cycles
- Put the charging port in the base to make it easier and less ugly to use the lamp while it’s charging
Final thoughts
Light can do so much for us from helping us see what we’re reading, to adding ambiance to a room. If you’ve wanted to add a small table lamp to a room indoors or outdoors, these small rechargeable lamps from Power Beauty are well-made little lamps that look good and are easy to use. The downside is the fact that they are a little pricy and they don’t save settings between power cycles.

I kept looking at those pictures, trying to figure out why you have monster giant pens and highlighters stacked next to your dresser drawers.
Ha!!!! Too funny!
That’s so funny, I actually thought the same thing.
Me, three! Which is actually what got me interested. A cordless floor lamp that is sufficiently bright for reading/sewing, has days of battery life and is Alexa-compatible (since you can’t use a smart plug) would be awesome. I didn’t find one with a quick Google search, however.
I bought this one https://zafferanoamerica.com/products/olivia-pro-lamp as the lockdown was letting up. It was being used in restaurants and featured in (I think) the NYTimes as a popular restaurant light. It has a separate charging base, which can be left on the table or you can pick it up and walk away with the light. I take it out on the deck for evening meals and work sessions while grilling, in non-bug weather. 9 hour battery, heavy-duty metal construction. Not as many color options (just cool and warm whites, and a bit of a mix between) as well as dimming. They have a floor lamp model as well, like @greg was looking for, but I don’t think it’s wireless. I have the rust color, but it comes in a bunch of different finishes. I got it for about $99, but it’s now up to $139. Really quality product.
