Performance

The first step is to make sure that the battery is fully charged and ready to go.

Once the battery is installed the next step is to set up the saw to cut your material at the desired angle. At 90 degrees, it will cut material approximately 8 inches wide and at 45 degrees it goes down to about 5 inches. The saw is lightweight and cuts well with minimal vibration. The sliding mechanism is not as smooth as my $500 plus Dewalt, but it is quite good. Best of all the saw is cordless and portable and the battery lets me a lot of cutting before it needs to be charged. I have not yet worked on a project that drained the battery, so I am not sure what action the saw takes when indicating that the battery charge is too low. I do wish that the mechanism to hold the material down to the saw cutting board was adjustable so that I could increase the width and therefore the point of contact with the material. The extension arms work well for long material that is manageable without really long extension arms or additional stands. The shadow line feature works well.

The following is a short video showing the Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw in action. Disclaimer: I have been working with power tools as a DIYer for a long time. The correct way to use this saw is with gloves and the practice of holding the wood with your hands close to the blade is not recommended. The mechanism to hold the material in place should be used. So please don’t do as I do if you are not very experienced with this type of equipment:

What I like

  • The build quality
  • The built-in functions
  • The including safety features
  • That it is lightweight to carry around
  • The ease of use and performance
  • The battery life

What I’d change

  • I would like the clamp that holds down the material to be longer or adjustable so that it can hold down closer to the center of any material that is wider.

Final thoughts

I have really become a fan of Worx products and the Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw is another reason why. it is relatively lightweight, easy to assemble and use, includes all of the features I need, and does the job. I love the fact that having other Worx products that use the same battery means that I can use this on a job away from home for a really long time without worrying about the availability of electricity. Once again Worx gets a well done and two thumbs up!!
