REVIEW – When I was much younger, I exercised almost daily with weights and other exercises that placed a lot of demand on my body. Now that I am somewhat older, I have chosen to switch to cardio and low impact exercises like rowing and bike riding. My wife and I have made bike riding a “couples thing” and for us to be adventurous and explore trails further away from where we live, we need to drive there with the bikes. I now have the opportunity to see if the Hollywood Destination Hitch 2 Bike Rack works for us!!
What is it?
The Hollywood Destination Hitch 2 Bike Rack is a lightweight bike hitch rack for 1-1/4″ and 2″ hitch sizes. It securely carries 2 bikes and is easy to install and easy to use. It weighs only 20 pounds and the design includes individual wheel trays to make loading and unloading easy. It also features padded frame holders to protect your bike even on the roughest roads. There are ratchet straps that slide vertically along the center post and rotate 360 degrees to accommodate every shape and size of the bike frame. The locking threaded hitch pin keeps the lightweight hitch bike rack from swaying during transit and the rack folds up when not in use.

This hitch is mostly made of metal with some rubber and plastic parts. The mast can be folded down, and the hitch tube has an adapter to accommodate a 1 1/4” or 2” trailer hitch. A threaded hitch pin, lock, cotter pins, and tools are included.
Performance
The Hollywood Destination Hitch 2 Bike Rack comes with a threaded hitch pin, a cotter pin, a lock, and 2 keys.
I have a 2″ receiver so I left the adapter on and I was able to install it very easily.
In order to lift the hitch up into the storage position, I folded the mast down after releasing the brace and used the wheel straps to secure it to the main part of the frame. I flooded it up by doing the following:
- Remove the clip from the knob
- Unscrew the knob
- Remove the knob
- Rotate the rack upwards
- insert and tighten the knob
- Insert the clip into the hole in the knob

The Hollywood Destination Hitch 2 Bike Rack works well, and it is easy to mount the bikes and remove them. The threaded gitch pin and the threaded bolt that locks it into the storage or extended position ensure that there is no noise or rattling. The bikes remain secure for the entire journey.
What I like
- It is well well built and extremely solid
- It is easy to assemble
- It features a very strong and secure connection to the hitch with no vibration from slackness
- It is easy to mount and dismount the bikes
- It folds away very nicely
What I’d change
- I do not see anything as yet that I would change. It would take more time using it to possibly suggest if there is anything
Final thoughts
The Hollywood Destination Hitch 2 Bike Rack is the first bike hitch I have owned, and I must say that the assembly and installation process could not be easier. It is well built and because of the threaded hitch pin, the connection is solid with no rattling whatsoever. It holds two bikes well and seems like it can take a beating and last for a long time. It works for me!!
