ARTICLE – At The Gadgeteer, many of us are choosy about what we everyday carry (EDC). I’m no exception. Let’s take a look at what I’ve chosen to use and carry every day for 2022.

- Tesla Model 3 keyfob with Apple AirTag, house key, Olight i1R 2 Pro flashlight.
- Tesla Model 3 ring
- Spyderco Paramilitary 2 knife
- Casio GMW-B5000 with GMW-B5000V case and strap
- Ridge Wallet
- iPhone 13 Pro
Keyfob
Believe it or not, but the keyfob was an optional, separate purchase with my 2019 Tesla Model 3. The cover you see is a silicone one that’s held up pretty well. I’m using this key fob lanyard that connects directly to the Tesla case, and not the soft silicone.
AirTag
By now, AirTags are fairly (in)famous. I once lost my keys at a wedding reception. This definitely came in handy.
Flashlight
This teeny tiny Olight i1R 2 Pro flashlight puts out 180 lumens on high or 5 lumens on low. My favorite party trick is the hidden USB-C charging port. Best of all, the two halves don’t come apart, so you don’t lose the bits!
RFID Ring for Tesla Model 3
This doesn’t make you the Green Lantern, but it’s pretty nifty. Sometimes I don’t have my car keys, OR my phone (Bluetooth unlocking). But a ring? Always on me! It essentially has the RFID guts of the standard Tesla “credit card key” inside a ceramic-like ring. What’s amazing to me is that it’s remained scratch-free. Unfortunately, you can’t just slap your hand over the B-pillar: You have to make a fist bump gesture with the plane of the ring parallel to the pillar.
Spyderco Paramilitary 2 S35VN
I have too many knives, but I carry this one. It’s the perfect blend of price to performance with an S35VN steel that holds an edge very well.
Casio GMW-B5000D-1 with GMW-B5000V case and strap
This started out life as a shiny chromed-out Casio GMW-B5000D-1 with the positive LCD display, but with the special “antiqued” case and strap of the limited edition GMW-B5000V. It’s my franken-watch and I love it.
Ridge Wallet
New for 2022 is my choice of wallet. I’m trying out the Ridge Wallet in stonewashed titanium with a money clip. I didn’t think I’d like a pokey clip, but it’s not bad! Time will tell.
iPhone 13 Pro
This needs no introduction. My case of choice is the Magsafe compatible Spigen Mag Armor and the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
