NEWS – Adding to its MagSafe accessory range, Apple today announced the MagSafe Battery Pack, a small battery that magnetically attaches to the back of any iPhone 12 model for convenient wireless charging on the go.
Taking advantage of the magnets that give MagSafe its name, the MagSafe Battery Pack simply snaps to the back of your iPhone and stays connected, charging the phone as you use it. The MagSafe Battery Pack will even charge the iPhone while it’s being charged itself, passing up to 15W of power to the iPhone as long as you use a 20W or higher power adapter.
If you need your phone plugged in for using wired CarPlay or while transferring photos or videos to a Mac, the MagSafe Battery Pack can be charged from the phone as well.
No power adapter or cable are included in the box so you’ll need to provide your own, which can be purchased from Apple or many third-party accessory makers.
Apple expects to ship the MagSafe Battery Pack as early as July 22. Online ordering is available now at apple.com for $99. In-store pickup will presumably be available once the accessory starts shipping.

Can this be charged from a MagSafe charger ie Qi enabled charger?
Sorry for the delay in replying, Jerry. To my knowledge, no it can’t be charged that way, but since it can be “reverse” wireless charged from an iPhone that’s plugged in to power maybe it’s possible.
