I’ve been enamored with tiny houses for several years and enjoy watching the Tiny House Nation and Tiny House Hunters series on TV. I always tell Jeanne that I could easily downsize and move into a tiny house. She just rolls her eyes and tells me that I’d be living alone. Even though she’s not interested in living in one, she heard about a tiny house roadshow up in Indy that we went to a couple weekends ago. They had over a dozen tiny houses on display that you could walk through. It was an eye opener. They are really…wait for it… TINY! 😉 While I can no longer see myself actually living in an extremely tiny home, I still am interested in them and other minimalists living styles.

I received an email today from Dave Munson of the Saddleback Leather Company, where he shared info about moving his family into a tent house. This isn’t one of those round yurts, these tents look like a real house. Check out the article and watch the video. Could you live in a tent house or a tiny house?

  2. I spent 2 summers in Similar (if not nearly as nice) tents. It was a fun experience, I would do a vacation or short stay in one, however I do not think I would enjoy living in one full time. Critters, there were ALWAYS CRITTERS inside. no matter how hard you tried they found a way in.

  3. I spent several summers living in walled tents in logging camps. Summers were good but tent houses in North Idaho in the winter would not be good. And they think Texas is cold….

  4. Julie,
Don’t forget to check out HGTV’s latest tiny house show: Tiny Luxury. Last night I watched an episode where the people built a 400sq ft house and spent $250,000 on it. Gorgeous but wow!

    1. I haven’t seen that show, I’ll have to add it to my DVR. That’s an insane price! The prices have skyrocketed because tiny houses are the in thing now. If I was really going to get one, I’d figure out some way to do it on the cheap 😉
