There is news that Twitter will launch a new music service, but it appears to be invite only. If you take a peak at music.twitter.com, there is a holding page with the hashtag #music and the words “coming soon”. There is also a button to sign in – but when you do so, it doesn’t do anything other that allow you to authorize your Twitter account with this page. Twitter had acquired the service We Are Hunted a while back, which aggregated and recommended music to users on the web. Twitter music will apparently suggest music tracks and artists to you based on who you follow on Twitter. Users will also be able to listen to music and video clips from services such as iTunes, SoundCloud and Vevo. If you are a part of Twitter, stay tuned for your invite!
