Bob Marley, Roy Orbison and Chet Adkins would probably turn over in their graves if they could see these new Gibson Min-ETune guitars. Affixed to the back of the headstock is a battery-powered robot tuner that can accurately tune all six strings simultaneously to standard tuning in a matter of seconds. Just press the button, strum and you’re done. You can also choose from 12 popular alternate tunings (including six you can program yourself). Gibson offers eleven classic guitars with Min-ETune, including SG and Les Paul models. Prices range from $1499 up to $3199. What do you think, is this a good idea or does it make musicians lazy? I for one think it’s a cool idea and would love it if it were built into my ukuleles 🙂

  2. i love the idea, but sometimes I think we try to get too cute with technology. I have had all sorts of neat little gadgets for my guitars over the years, but in the end I have found simpler seems to be better…
