A 1.97-inch blade changes what this knife is for
The most important spec here isn’t the steel or the handle material. It’s the 1.97-inch blade. At 1.97 inches, the Treebrand Pocket is considerably smaller than the three-inch-plus folders commonly carried for EDC. That limits its usefulness for larger cutting jobs, but it also explains the knife’s appeal.
Opening tape on a delivery box doesn’t require a large blade. Neither does cutting a loose thread, opening packaging, or sharpening a pencil. For jobs like these, the small blade may be all you need.
The 1.62-ounce weight reinforces that approach. This isn’t a traditional knife scaled to compete with a full-size modern folder. Portability is part of the point.

We haven’t independently tested this knife’s edge retention, corrosion resistance, or sharpening behavior. What we can establish is that Böker has paired D2 with an otherwise distinctly traditional pocket-knife design.
White bone gives it traditional character
The handle is where this Böker most clearly separates itself from modern EDC folders. Böker uses smooth white bone scales framed by polished nickel-silver bolsters, along with four decorative handle rivets. Instead of exposed screws, machined aluminum, G10, or carbon fiber, the Treebrand Pocket deliberately looks like a traditional pocket knife.
Because bone is a natural material, some visual variation between individual knives is reasonable to expect.
The smooth finish also creates a potential tradeoff compared with aggressively textured modern handles. We haven’t handled the knife, however, so grip and comfort are things we’d want to judge through actual use rather than product photos.
A backlock instead of a slipjoint
The Treebrand Pocket uses a backlock rather than a slipjoint. That’s an important distinction in a traditional-looking knife. Once opened, the backlock mechanically locks the blade in position instead of relying on the non-locking arrangement associated with a conventional slipjoint.

That manufacturing detail is worth clarifying because Böker sells several product families. This particular model belongs to Böker Manufaktur and is listed by Böker USA as item 110894, made in Germany.
That doesn’t automatically prove perfect fit and finish. We haven’t inspected this example for grind consistency, joint quality, bolster finishing, or other manufacturing details. But it does establish where this particular model is made rather than relying on Böker’s German heritage as a shortcut.
