USB-C was supposed to simplify connecting our gadgets. The problem is that most of us didn’t replace every computer, charger, cable, flash drive, and accessory at the same time.

That leaves us with perfectly usable gear that doesn’t always fit the device sitting in front of us. Your new laptop may have USB-C ports while the flash drive you need is USB-A. Move to an older desktop or charger and the problem can reverse: now you have a USB-A port and a USB-C cable.
The UGREEN USB to USB-C Adapter Combo 4-Pack is designed for this awkward transition. Instead of giving you four identical adapters, UGREEN includes two types that address the connector mismatch from both directions.
Two types of adapters in one package
The package contains two USB-C male to USB-A female adapters and two USB-A male to USB-C female adapters.
That combination is the main reason this pack is more interesting than a typical multipack.
The USB-C male adapters let you connect compatible USB-A peripherals to USB-C-equipped computers, tablets, and phones. That might include flash drives, keyboards, mice, external storage, and other USB accessories.
The USB-A male adapters handle the reverse connection, allowing compatible USB-C cables and peripherals to connect to USB-A ports.
There is an important distinction here. These adapters change the connector, not the underlying capabilities of your equipment. They won’t add features that the host port, cable, or peripheral doesn’t already support.
For everyday compatibility problems, however, simply getting the connectors to match can be exactly what you need.
10Gbps gives you useful headroom for storage
Tiny adapters become much more interesting when you’re transferring large amounts of data. UGREEN rates these adapters for transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
That’s considerably more bandwidth than USB 2.0’s 480Mbps ceiling, making the adapters potentially useful for external SSDs, hard-drive enclosures, and other high-speed storage rather than limiting them to low-bandwidth accessories such as keyboards and mice.
But there is a catch. UGREEN says the connected equipment must also support 10Gbps transmission to reach the adapter’s maximum rate. The company also specifies that the cable connected to the adapter should not exceed three feet when attempting to achieve that speed. So don’t interpret “10Gbps” as the file-transfer speed you’ll necessarily see on your computer.
The adapter can’t make a USB 2.0 flash drive faster or increase the capabilities of a slower USB port. Actual performance depends on the host, port, cable, peripheral, storage hardware, and workload. The 10Gbps figure is therefore best treated as the adapter’s advertised maximum rather than expected real-world performance.
Charging is useful, but there’s an 18W ceiling
UGREEN also rates the adapters for charging at up to 18W/3A.
That adds another reason to keep a few around. They can bridge compatible USB-A and USB-C charging connections when the connector available on a charger or computer doesn’t match the cable you have.
Just don’t confuse connector compatibility with high-power USB-C charging. With an advertised maximum of 18W, this isn’t the accessory for devices that require 65W, 100W, or another high-power USB-C charging setup. These adapters are better suited to basic charging and compatibility duties than trying to turn an older USB-A charger into the equivalent of a modern high-wattage USB-C charger.
Four tiny adapters are easier to distribute than one dongle
UGREEN lists the adapters at approximately 31 x 14 x 7mm. That’s small enough to keep them in a tech pouch or leave them with equipment that regularly needs an adapter.
Having four can also be more convenient than carrying a single adapter from place to place. One can stay with your laptop, another can live at your desk, and the remaining pair can go into a travel bag or stay with frequently used cables.
UGREEN says the adapters use aluminum-alloy housings with metal connectors. The company also says they have been tested to withstand more than 10,000 plugging and unplugging cycles.
That 10,000-cycle figure is worth keeping in perspective. It’s UGREEN’s durability claim, not the result of independent long-term testing here. What we can establish from the specifications is that UGREEN uses an aluminum-alloy housing rather than an all-plastic exterior.
Who should buy the UGREEN adapter combo?
This four-pack makes the most sense for anyone whose devices are split between USB-A and USB-C. If you have already moved entirely to USB-C, this pack will likely offer limited value. It’s also the wrong solution if you need display output, several additional ports, or high-wattage USB-C charging. Those jobs call for a proper hub, dock, cable, or charger designed for the task. But plenty of us aren’t living in an all-USB-C world yet.
If your desk, travel bag, and collection of older accessories contain a mixture of USB-A and USB-C connections, UGREEN’s approach is practical because one package handles the physical mismatch in both directions. You get four compact adapters, support for data transfers up to 10Gbps when the rest of the connection can keep up, and charging support up to 18W.
