
A home battery system usually starts with a shopping list: inverter, battery, control hardware, protection gear, and the wiring that ties it all together. SolaX’s new AEGIS series takes the opposite path, putting its inverter, 16 kWh battery, and battery management system inside one cabinet for homes and small properties that can’t count on the grid.

One cabinet, fewer installation decisions
SolaX announced AEGIS on July 28, 2026, as an all-in-one off-grid energy-storage system. The company says the cabinet combines its OG off-grid inverter, an LD160 battery with 16 kWh of storage, and the battery management system.
That packaging is the product’s central pitch. SolaX says installers can skip a separate on-site power cable and external switch between the inverter and battery, cutting down on the hardware that needs to be mounted and wired during installation. The company also says the cabinet accepts cable entry from either side.
The thermal-protection story is equally central to the launch. SolaX describes coordinated monitoring across the inverter, battery, and battery management system, backed by integrated aerosol fire suppression. Those are company claims, not independent safety-test results.
Two models share the same storage capacity
The range starts with the AEG0616, rated for 6 kW of output, and steps up to the AEG0816, rated for 8 kW. Both models pair that output with 16 kWh of storage. SolaX puts the backup transfer time at 4 milliseconds.
In EPS mode, the company says either model can deliver up to 200 percent of its rated output for five seconds, a short burst intended for start-up loads from equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, pumps, and motors. Storage stays fixed. The real choice is output: does the property need 6 kW or 8 kW of continuous power?
The larger installation has a real use case
AEGIS can scale beyond a single cabinet. SolaX says up to three systems can run in parallel, and three AEG0816 units would combine for 24 kW of output and 48 kWh of storage.
SolaX also built in a dedicated generator connection with smart load management: generator operation can adjust to battery state of charge and demand, and non-essential loads can be reduced or disconnected to keep power available for priority equipment.
Farms, remote homes, and island properties may have pumps, refrigeration, or workshop equipment that draw a hard start-up surge. The AEGIS pitch is built around handling that gap without a collection of separate boxes on the wall.
Availability is regional, and the price is still unknown
SolaX is targeting an August 2026 rollout across Asia and Africa, working through local distributor and installer networks in each region. The company didn’t announce pricing, U.S. availability, or a specific list of launch countries in its July 28 release.
That limits the buying decision for North American readers right now. A system this size will depend on local electrical rules, installer support, solar-array design, and the loads a property needs to protect. Wait for an installer quote, then compare the total system cost, not just the cabinet’s storage figure.
The TG take
The useful part of AEGIS isn’t simply the 16 kWh number. Home storage gets complicated when every piece comes from a separate product line, then has to work with a generator and the loads a family refuses to lose during an outage.
