REVIEW – Living in NW Florida, we have plenty of warm weather throughout the year, which is perfect for spending time outside. Whether it’s going to the beach or just grilling out in the backyard, my family has their phones, Bluetooth speakers, handheld gaming devices, and even laptops with them. Needless to say, there’s always a need for power, because you can bet someone didn’t charge a device or prolonged use drains it. We also have the threat of hurricanes and have a need to keep cell phones, flashlights, and batteries charged. So what’s the solution? The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 comes to the rescue. It’s perfectly portable with a plethora of ports and tons of other features. Do you have need of a portable charging solution? You should read the rest of this review to see if it ticks your boxes.

Design and features
The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is chock full of features in such a small package, so let me break them down a little differently than I normally do.
Charging options
There are three main charging options available with the Bluetti Elite 30 V2. First, there’s the standard AC cable option. Plug it into a normal wall outlet and let it rip. This is the same as if connecting to a generator or a 120VAC port in your car, truck, RV, you get it. Second, there’s the 12V charging adapter so you can charge it in your vehicle via the 12V power port, or as I remember them, the cigarette lighter. Thirdly, Bluetti offers a separate solar panel that can charge the unit via the DC/PV Input port.
Outlets
The Elite 30 V2 offers 8 charging ports that should cover most of your devices. There are 2 AC outlets that supply 120V/600W of power and 6 ports that offer DC power options. There are 2 USB-C ports, with 1 offering 140W of power and the other 100W. Next, there are 2 USB-A ports, both supplying 15W of power. Finally, there are two female barrel connectors that offer 12V/8A.
Charging Modes
The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 has 3 charging modes to replenish its batteries: standard, turbo, and silent. Each has its own power requirements with different charging times. Turbo mode can get you up to 80% in about 45 minutes, while a full charge on standard takes 2 hours and silent takes 3. I have to say those times are pretty accurate based on my usage.
Usage modes
The Elite 30 V2 power station also offers a couple of different modes for your devices. There’s the power lifting mode that can power up to 1500W resistive loads like electric kettles, hair dryers, and even a microwave up to 800W separately, of course. At least I can have pour-over coffee and popcorn the next time we have the Snowpocalyspe in Florida like last year. Yes, snow. Yes, in Florida. I got up to 9″ in my front yard.
Next is ECO mode. This one is turned on by default. Basically, this means the unit is smart enough to turn itself off after a period of low to no load usage. Meaning, there’s one less thing to remember to do when you may be in the middle of some natural event, like say a hurricane. You’ll have plenty of other things to worry about rather than did I turn off the Elite 30 V2 after I topped off my phone and flashlight.
UPS mode
The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 also has the ability to act as a UPS. So, if you have a need for one in your PC setup. The Elite 30 V2 can serve double duty for you. Just plug the Elite 30 V2 into the wall and your PC into it. If your power goes out, the Elite 30 V2 should switch over to battery power within 10ms. Just remember, UPSs are not for continuing to do your work or playing your game until you kill the battery. They are for allowing you enough time to save your work and power off everything safely.
These aren’t all of the features the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 offers. Others directly correlate to the use of the solar panels and running it from a generator, like time control and PV priority. Those were a little too into the weeds for me, since I don’t have a way of testing those.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
There is no setup you really need to do out of the box. The unit I received came with about a 37% charge when I took it out of the box. So, I plugged it in and fully charged it before testing. There is a way to get into the settings of the Elite 30 V2 by holding down the AC and DC buttons while powering it on. From there, you can use the buttons to make changes. The other way is the Bluettis app, which gives you more granular controls to change some defaults and allows you to fine-tune some things. The only thing I did was use the app to update to the latest firmware via a Bluetooth connection. I didn’t see the need to change anything else for my use case. I have included several pics of the app to let you see it, though.
Performance
Luckily, so far this hurricane season has been really quiet for us here, knock on wood, meaning I haven’t had to try out the Bluetti ELite 30 V2 for my main purpose. With that said, I have tried to use it as I intend to, should I need it. I plugged in 2 laptops, an iPad, a phone, and a battery charger for my flashlight batteries, and it handled that job like a champ. It charged everything in a reasonable amount of time, with some charge leftover at the end. I’ve also used it with my work laptop to extend the amount of time I can be away from my desk in my home office. I don’t like to sit in there all day being isolated. By using the Elite 30 V2, I can run my laptop battery down twice and charge it twice with about 20% left. That lets me go all day long without having to be tied to my desk.
Final thoughts
First, let me say, don’t ever just read one review and base whether or not you buy something on that. If you like my review or find it helpful, that’s great. If you click the link to buy it via The Gadgeteer website, even better. It helps to keep the lights on. If in any of my reviews, I say I like something, it’s because I do or found it useful, not because I feel an obligation to the OEM of the device I’m reviewing.
With that out of the way, I will say that yes, I do like the Bluetti Elite 30 V2. It’s small, lightweight, and has tons of ports for charging my family’s devices. It’s simple to use straight out of the box, or you can use the app to fine-tune the settings to better fit your needs. There are several modes for charging the unit itself and a couple for charging or powering your devices. It can even act as a UPS, should I decide to use it like that, and I honestly believe that the price is good. I’ve read a lot of other reviews about Bluetti devices, including from other Gadgeteers, and like what I’ve seen. So, take it for what it’s worth. I think if something like the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is useful to you, then you should get it.
