REVIEW – My son and review partner, Mason, has always wanted night vision goggles. He likes to camp, hike, fish and just about anything that gets him into the great outdoors. When we had an opportunity to review the WARMTUYO night vision goggles, he couldn’t wait! (Note: The image above is the default screen, unfortunately, none of our images were quite this cool.)

Design and features
Setup
There’s very little setup needed. You just need to charge it up. Find the charging port by peeling away the small cover on the bottom of the goggles and use the (included) USB-C charger.
Then, if you’d like to use the neck strap, just clip it onto the small rings on either side of the viewfinder. We can imagine this would be a nice feature for hand-free but accessible carrying if you’re out backpacking, hiking or hunting. We always use it with the neckstrap.
Settings and features
These goggles offer several different settings and features, which are easy to use and understand.
The buttons on top of the goggles include:
- Power on/off
- IR+ and IR- are the infrared settings: nine settings, click quickly to increase or decrease the level of brightness
- You can zoom in and out by holding down the IR+/- button for three seconds
- The camera/OK defaults to video mode but click once to switch to photo mode; adjust the zoom with the IR+/- and adjust the focus with the focus wheel
- The playback button lets you view recorded videos and photos
- The sunshine button lets you turn on or off the key backlight
- MENU: Inside the submenus, you can adjust the video resolution, photo resolution, language, time, screen saver, screen brightness, auto power on/off and date tag
- MODE: Switches between photo and video mode
Performance
We tested these in a cabin in the woods, as well as a park/frisbee golf course, and in our backyard: They work amazingly well.
The picture is crisp and clear. We could easily spot someone hiding in the woods or a creature.
This is a video still of co-reviewer Mason running through the trees when he was completely invisible to the naked eye, it was pitch dark outside.
This is a photo of my other son standing in a frisbee golf course, which also shows the quality difference between video and photo.
Again, he was completely undetectable to the naked eye. Here is what it looks like in the daylight for comparison.
Unfortunately, we didn’t encounter any wildlife during our testing (just our dogs!), but you’d certainly be able to see any critters that came for a visit in clear definition. These would be great for any outdoor adventures or general surveillance.
With a 12-hour battery life, I can’t think of a situation where battery life would become a problem unless you had a long stretch without access to a power supply to charge it.
Our only one small criticism is that taking video and photos can be a bit shaky. I tried bracing myself against a tree, which helped a little. An internal stabilizer or using it with a tripod would resolve this even better. We haven’t used it with a tripod, but there’s a bracket where you could attach one, in case you wanted to set this up and monitor a certain location.
Overall, it’s intuitive to use, and we especially appreciate the easy controls, such as the focus wheel on the underside and the ability to adjust night vision brightness with a quick click. The glowing buttons are also a nice feature.
Final thoughts
These night vision goggles work great and are an excellent deal for the price.
