REVIEW – Several years ago, after my previous laptop died, I switched to a small case with a small monitor and a mini PC, keyboard, and mouse. The case was not really bulky, and I was okay with walking around with it because the mini PC was cheap to upgrade and also cheap to replace with one with better specs. I must admit that while I would boast about having that compact package that cost much less than a capable laptop, deep inside, I was longing to get back to a capable laptop. Enter the Nimo 15.6″ N155 R7 6800H FHD Business Gaming Laptop.

It is lightweight at only 2.08 pounds and measures approximately 14 x 9 x 0.75 inches. The screen is a 1920 x 1080 15.6-inch IPS anti-glare HD display. There is a 2MP webcam with a privacy cover and built-in microphone in the middle above the display. The lower half of the laptop features a backlit keyboard with multiple USB-C and USB-A ports, HDMI, an audio combo jack, a MicroSD card slot, and a Kensington lock slot built in. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, along with replaceable RAM and storage, round out the features.
Performance
The Nimo 15.6″ N155 R7 6800H FHD Business Gaming Laptop continues to be a joy for me to use. I know that if money is not an issue, there are many better laptops available for purchase that offer better performance and capability. However, for the cost, performance, and look of this laptop, I am pleased with it. It consistently delivers on performance and can handle every computing need I have without breaking a sweat.
I like that I can easily upgrade up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of NVMe SSD storage albeit that I will have to remove the back of the laptop and would have preferred a design with a sliding door and a screw. Nevertheless, capability is what is important. For all my business needs, including using applications like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, and Lightroom, this laptop is good to go. I am not a gamer, but I am assuming that the integrated Radeon 680M GPU is capable enough for casual gaming, which makes it a versatile choice for both business and leisure use.
The display is a 15.6-inch FHD IPS anti-glare panel, and it is easy on the eyes. I am not 100% sure about the screen’s color accuracy since it does seem a bit off when I compare it side by side to my MacBook Pro. I do not use this laptop for color correction, so for me it is not an issue, but it could be for some.
I also must mention the build quality, which, with its metal top shell and plastic body, offers a good balance of sturdiness and weight. The backlit keyboard and touchpad work well, and the integrated fingerprint sensor is responsive and makes responding to security authentication easy.
My only “big” complaint is the battery life, which I think leaves much to be desired, considering how far technology has advanced in terms of producing lightweight, compact, and long-lasting batteries. I often find myself working with a few applications open and having to plug in the AC adapter much sooner than anticipated.
Regardless, the build quality, connectivity via its multiple USB ports, the built-in micro-SD card reader, HDMI port, and the overall competency make this laptop a fantastic value at this price point.
