REVIEW – A good computer monitor is a great asset in doing work and playing games, especially when you need additional real estate and a laptop or tablet just can’t cut it. I have an ancient monitor that I’ve been looking to replace for a while and the INNOCN 24.5 Inch Gaming Monitor (model 25G2S) looked like it would fit the bill perfectly. It’s a light and thin 24.5 inch monitor and I put it through its paces. Read on to see how it held up!

Design and features
As far as design, the INNOCN 24.5 Inch Gaming Monitor is very similar to most monitors currently on the market. The whole unit is very light and the frame is primarily made of plastic. The design of the base has a carbon-fiber look and pattern to it. Everything was well-packaged and labeled.
The monitor includes a built-in speaker that is a nice little feature, but nothing much to write home about. It works, but isn’t going to amaze anyone with its depth and quality.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
Assembly is very straight-forward. My installation uses the included base and the pieces snap and slide together easily. There is an included cable clip that slots into the back of the post on the base, which is a nice little addition for cable management.
There are VESA mounts on the back of the monitor if your setup requires, but I didn’t test that part out in my configuration.
Performance
Initial testing on this monitor consisted of basic computer functionality and my setup was via HDMI. I pulled up a decent test website on eizo.com to see if there were any glaring issues with color, response time, or quality. Taking pictures of the screen probably introduces more error, so if you see something, it’s probably a speck of dust on the screen. The results from testing were flawless to my eyes.
I haven’t included all of the tests, but sharpness was especially impressive to me.
The gamma test was very interesting, but the response was very good.
Playing 4K clips also resulted in some great results. Errors here again are probably more with the camera than the screen.
I also appreciated the included calibration report on the in-factory testing.
Final thoughts
Overall, the INNOCH 25G2S is a pretty great, lightweight monitor. Color response and visual quality are great. The included speaker is nice to have, but if you want any kind of immersive sound, you’re probably going to get a different setup anyway. Given its lightweight design, I imagine any VESA setup should be able to easily handle this monitor. The response time and quality of 4K videos were fantastic, and I think that for the price, this is a great monitor and should serve you well.
What I like about the INNOCN 24.5 Inch Gaming Monitor
- Lightweight build is easy to move and install
- Video quality is crisp and very good
- Out of the box installation was simple and easy
- Included speaker is a nice addition
What needs to be improved?
