REVIEW – I am sure that no one within the gaming community or otherwise would describe me as a Gamer. However, I have recently become immersed in the world of VR with my Meta Quest 3 VR headset and I now attend all of my MS Teams remote meetings via my VR headset. Additionally, I started playing a few games and invested in additional equipment to improve the experience. Now I am looking for a capable headset, and this OXS Storm G2 – Wireless Gaming Headset seems likely to fit the bill. Let’s see.

The OXS Storm G2 Wireless Gaming Headset features an ergonomic and lightweight design weighing just .5 pounds. The headband is adjustable and includes padding and the logo on the top of the headband. The earcups have memory foam padding for comfort around the ears and customizable RGB lighting on the exterior of the earcups. There is a 3.5mm removable omnidirectional microphone and a built-in microphone. The connectivity ports include a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle that can be connected to a PC via both USB-A or USB-C ports, a 3.5mm Audio port, and controls for volume, EQ mode, selection switch for the choice between Bluetooth or the 2,4 GHz dongle, microphone mute and the USB-C charging port.
Performance
IMNO the OXS Storm G2 Wireless Gaming Headset offers impressive value versus price for what it delivers. While it does not feel like the sturdiest headset, I have not had any issues with the build quality, and again, the price is well worth it. Starting with how it fits, the headband is made from an alloy wrapped in a leather-like material and nicely cushioned for my head. Similarly, the earcups make the sizeable headset feel comfortable and the light weight adds to the ability to wear this headset for a long time.
As I previously mentioned, I use the headset primarily for my remote MS Teams meetings but also for a few games I play. I love that when I need to walk away from my desk but still be connected to the Teams call, the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle gives me more than enough range while maintaining a rock-solid connection. The dongle can be connected to either a USB-C or a USB-A port, so port availability is never an issue if I switch PCs with less available ports. I have also tried the Bluetooth connection which works well but I stick with the dongle because of the advantage of the range. I also like the option of using a wired 3.5mm cable if my headset dikes. Some of my mini-PCs still have a 3.5mm audio port, but I must admit that many new mini-PCs do not come with it.
I can say with assurance that for my applications, there is no noticeable latency which is quite surprising at this price. There are 3 EQ modes, but I leave mine in the “Game” mode which also works fine for meetings. I have tested the “surround sound” mode and it is ok. I have also tested a couple of phone calls and the audio on both sides was clear. The RGB lighting on the earcups is a nice touch but I am over that since I cannot see it when I wear the headset.
Overall, I have had nothing but an enjoyable experience with this headset. The battery lasts long enough so that after several hours I still have most of the charge. It is a great bang for the $buck. Well done.
Final thoughts
The OXS Storm G2 – Wireless Gaming Headset has been a fantastic addition to my VR meeting and gaming experience. It has worked well for my remote meeting via MS Teams, and as my ears when I play Aim Assault or practice using ACE Shooting. Well done.
