loki nav

NEWS – This week, I have four campaigns that caught my eye. From a multi-functional compass that doubles as a survival tool to a zipper-free EDC bag, these projects blend creativity with functionality. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, an organization fanatic, or someone who loves versatile gadgets, these campaigns offer something for everyone. Let’s dive into the details of the Loki-Nav, MagGo Air, Dartlnk, and Roam to see why they’re worth backing!

Loki-Nav

Shown above.

What is it?

The Loki-Nav is a small pocket-sized compass that’s available in aluminum or titanium.

Why do I like it?

I like the Loki-Nav because in addition to featuring a replaceable compass core, it also has a rotating magnifying lens that you can use to magnify things (shocking!). But you can also use it to start a fire. The cover of the compass can help with that too because it has a textured surface that you can use to make wood shavings. On the back of the cap is a built-in mirror which can come in handy for signaling in an emergency or checking if you’ve got broccoli stuck in your teeth after lunch.

The Loki-Nav campaign ends on 03/25/25 and they have already more than met their funding goal of $3860. You can pre-order a Loki-Nav starting at $45. After the Loki-Nav campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

MagGo Air zip-free EDC bag

maggo air

What is it?

The MagGo Air is a small shoulder bag designed to carry all your essential EDC gear when you’re on the go.

Why do I like it?

I like the MagGo Air because it uses magnets instead of zippers, snaps, Velcro, and buckles. That means fast access to your important stuff without fumbling around. I love my little Bellroy Sling bag, but the MagGo Air looks like a great alternative due to the bright orange interior and all the slots, pockets, and compartments for great organization.

The MagGo Air campaign ends on 04/04/25 and they have surpassed their funding goal of $3796. You can pre-order a MagGo Air starting at $69. After the MagGo Air campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Dartlnk

dartlnk 2

What is it?

Dartlnk is a quick-release Titanium mini pen and knife that you can wear around your neck or put in your pocket.

Why do I like it?

First of all, it’s not really a pen. It’s a pencil with an everlasting tip that can write without being sharpened. These types of pencils aren’t amazing, but they are useful because you never have to worry about running out of ink, there’s no smudging, and you can even write underwater. Why you’d be writing underwater is beyond me, but you can with this “pen”. I also like that it has a quick release feature which makes it easy to remove the knife to open boxes as soon as the Amazon guy leaves.

The Dartlnk campaign ends on 03/27/25 and they have already more than met their funding goal of $3000. You can pre-order a Dartlnk starting at $35. After the Dartlnk campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in June 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Roam

roam

What is it?

Roam is a tiny GPS tracker like an Apple AirTag but it has built-in elastic bands for easy attachment to bags and more.

Why do I like it?

I like the Roam tracker because it works with both Apple and Android “Find My” apps and there’s a QR code on the back that can help you reunite with lost items. I also like that they’ve made it from recycled plastics.

The Roam campaign ends on 03/26/25 and they have already earned 5 times their original funding goal of $6340. You can pre-order a Roam starting at $30. After the Roam campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in May 2025. Visit their Indiegogo page for all the details.
