NEWS – When it comes to my EDC, I don’t need much. A minimalist wallet, a compact multi-tool or knife, a small notebook, and definitely a pen. When I saw the Kickstarter campaign for the P3N (clever name), I had to check it out. If you’re interested too, here’s the scoop.
What is it?
The P3N is a light weight EDC pen made of titanium and carbon fiber and uses a magnet to hold the quick-release cap in place.
Why do I like it?
I like the P3N because it’s an EDC pen that is so small that you can tuck it in the 5th pocket of your jeans, add it to your keychain, or wear it around your neck, and you won’t even notice that it’s there.
Gotchas?
There are two main gotchas for the P3N. The first one is that it is so small that you’re not going to be able to hold it like a traditional pen. So small notes are going to be about all you’d ever want to do with this tiny EDC pen. The next gotcha is that it uses proprietary refills and not standard D1 refills (AFAIK). This shouldn’t be a surprise given the size of this thing. But it means that you can’t just order more from Amazon anytime you want. However, YSMART will sell extras as add-ons for the Kickstarter pledges.
Where can I find more info?
The P3N campaign ends on 12/21/24 and they have already surpassed their funding goal of $7,639. You can pre-order a P3N starting at $34. After the P3N campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in March 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details. What do you think? Even with the caveats, do you still want one? I kind of do!

This would be really great…if it was a pencil. Cheers!
