NEWS – I’ve reviewed about a dozen mechanical keyboards this year and during that time I did quite a bit of keycap and switch swaps. Most mechanical keyboards come with a keycap/key switch puller tool. But those tools are cheap and easily bend or even break. I never considered that there might be a market for better-quality tools. But of course, there are, and Kemove happens to make two of them. Granted, I haven’t actually USED these tools. but I just stumbled upon them while surfing and they certainly look interesting. There’s the Kemove P10 and the Kemove P11 (shown above). The P11 is the one that really captured my attention because it can remove 4 keycaps at a time. It’s made with stainless steel jaws and is priced at only $4.99. The only downside to the P11 is that it is only designed to pull the caps and not the switches.
The Kemove P10 (below) is a 2-in-1 tool that can pull one cap and one switch at a time. It’s available in 5 colors and is priced at $24.99. It also features a special mechanism that allows easier removal of switches. If you’ve removed mechanical switches before, you’ll know that finding the clips with the tool can be a pain. The P10 is supposed to make that easier. What do you think? Are you ready to spring for one of these tools?
