REVIEW – When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, the mattress you choose plays a pivotal role in your overall comfort and well-being. While comfort is subjective to your preference of features from plush vs firm, foam type, support, pillow top, etc, Novilla has a variety of options that could fit your needs and wants. After reading through all the descriptions of each mattress, I choose to test out the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid mattress for this review.

Design and features
The Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid mattress is designed with five layers, bamboo rayon fiber cover, cooling gel-infused memory foam, airflow comfort foam, individual pocket springs and high-density base foam, that work together to provide a balance of comfort and support.
1. Bamboo Rayon Fiber Cover
The top layer features a soft, breathable bamboo rayon fabric. This hypoallergenic cover is not only gentle on the skin but also helps with moisture-wicking and ventilation, ensuring a cool, comfortable sleep environment.
2. Cooling Gel-Infused Memory Foam
Beneath the cover, you’ll find a layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam. This layer offers both cooling properties and a contouring feel, helping to regulate your body temperature throughout the night while providing pressure relief for your hips, shoulders, and spine.
3. Airflow Comfort Foam
The third layer is an airflow comfort foam designed to enhance breathability and promote proper airflow within the mattress. This layer helps reduce heat buildup and ensures you stay comfortable throughout the night by preventing excessive warmth.
4. Individual Pocket Springs
The core of the mattress features individual pocket springs that provide responsive support. These coils are designed to move independently, offering targeted support where you need it most while reducing motion transfer between sleepers. They also contribute to the mattress’s bouncy, durable feel. The Novilla 12-inch hybrid mattress has been proven to effectively isolate motion transfer between those sharing a bed, making it a great choice for those who are easily disturbed by others movements when trying to sleep.
5. High-Density Base Foam
The final layer consists of high-density base foam that ensures the mattress maintains its structure and longevity. This foundation provides a stable and supportive base, helping to distribute weight evenly and maintain durability over time.
The Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid mattress offers what is described as a medium-firm feel, providing both comfort and support for a restful night’s sleep. The combination of thicker foam layers and the pocket coil system creates an ideal balance of contouring comfort and responsive support. Also thanks to its durable innerspring coil system, the mattress provides edge support, maximizing the usable sleep surface and making it easier to get in and out of bed.
One of the standout features of the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid mattress is its excellent temperature regulation, which I’ll dive deeper into in the performance section of this review. All five layers of the mattress work together to help dissipate body heat and maintain an ideal sleep temperature. The combination of the pocket coils and the breathable airflow memory foam layer allows heat to escape, while the cooling gel-infused memory foam and bamboo rayon cover work in together to keep you comfortably cool throughout the night.
I couldn’t finish talking about the design features without mentioning a small, but thoughtful bonus feature that I really appreciate. Novilla added handy handles to the sides of the mattress, making it much easier to rotate and move. While it might seem like a minor detail, it’s one of those extra touches that sets this mattress apart from the competition and adds a little more convenience to the overall experience.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
Setting up your Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid Mattress is a straightforward process, though it’s not without a bit of effort. The steps are simple, but you’ll need some space and a little patience to get everything set up properly.
First, it’s important to note that the box your mattress arrives in is long and heavy—measuring 13″ x 13″ x 58″ and weighing about 75 lbs. Be prepared to handle it carefully and ideally have someone helping you with the set up of the mattress.
To start, lay the box on its side and unbox it. Once the mattress is out, position the rolled-up mattress where you want it to go (on your box spring, bed frame, or foundation).
Next, remove the outer plastic film, and the mattress will start to unfurl. Note: there is a lot of film, so you will be unwrapping the outer layer for a while.
At this point, once all the outer film is off, carefully cut open the inner plastic wrap using the included Novilla opener (essentially a letter opener).
After the mattress is unwrapped, allow it to fully expand. Typically, it takes around 72 hours for the mattress to fully inflate to its full size. Note that if the room temperature is low or if the mattress has been tightly rolled up in the shipping box for a while, it may take a bit longer. If you feel the mattress hasn’t expanded as expected, Novilla suggests gently rolling on it for 10-30 minutes to help loosen it up.
Performance
When we first received the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid Mattress, I’ll admit, the adjustment was tougher than my daughter expected. Coming from a mattress that was much softer and well broke in, the initial transition to this one—which offers a firmer feel—was a bit uncomfortable. Comfort is, of course, a deeply personal experience, and what works for one person may not work for another. For her, it took some time to get used to the different level of support the Novilla Vitality Hybrid mattress provides. However, after using it for about a month now, she now found herself happy with the change.
She has found that the mattress strikes a solid balance between support and comfort, offering just enough give without feeling too soft or too hard. She is a multi-sport athlete, so it is common for her to be sore throughout her body and she has found herself waking up feeling rested and not bothered by any sore or stiff muscles from sleeping.
My daughter also tends to get very warm while sleeping, so temperature regulation was a key factor in choosing the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid for review. This mattress advertises that it is designed to excel in heat control, thanks to its combination of coils, improved airflow memory foam layer that helps transfer body heat, as well as its use of cooling gel-infused memory foam and a bamboo rayon cover. While it’s difficult to definitively prove the effectiveness of these features, she’s mentioned that she no longer wakes up feeling as hot during the night, which suggests the mattress may indeed live up to its claims.
As I’ve mentioned many times, although everyone’s ideal comfort level is different, this mattress has proven to be a solid choice replacement for my daughter. If you tend to sleep warm and like a medium firm supportive surface, the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid might be a good fit. When testing any mattress, including this one, be sure to give it some time to allow your body to adjust to the changes before you make a definitive choice if you love or hate it. Which leads me right into the next section of Novilla allowing you to test out your mattress and their limited warranty.

Final thoughts
Overall, after using the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid Mattress for several weeks, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by its quality and comfort. The combination of support, temperature regulation, and pressure relief has made a noticeable difference in our daughter’s sleep quality. While comfort is always subjective, this mattress offers a good balance of firmness and softness that has worked well for us and the “cooling feature” has also been a welcome addition. While it may take some time to adjust to the feel if you’re used to a different type of mattress, we’re ultimately satisfied with how it’s performed. For anyone seeking a well-rounded mattress with a focus on support and temperature control, the Novilla 12″ Vitality Hybrid Mattress is definitely worth considering.
