Design and features
ORIGINAL SUPER THIN CASE (Natural, Bin #758)
The Original Super Thin case is the most spartan of them all. It’s an impossibly thin hard plastic case that wraps around your phone like a second skin.
There is a raised ridge around the camera for protection. Note that the side buttons are actually covered.
The camera button cutout is simply an open oval. The material is thin enough that it wasn’t too difficult to press.
The one drawback with being this thin is the lack of screen protection.
The next model is the BUMPER IPHONE 16 PRO CASE (Black, Bin #709)
This case features a softer, flexible border with buttons, The clear back is slightly more rigid. Buttons are molded into the sides and provide good tactile feedback.
The camera opening is another open hole. No cover.
I did notice the outside border was recessed somewhat to make it easier for your finter to press the camera button.
Once again there is a plastic bezel to protect the camera lenses.
This transparent case is known as the FLEX CASE. It is easily the most bendy of the bunch. It’s hard to see, but there are thousands of tiny dots on the inside of the clear plastic, keeping the case from “sticking” the phone, casing strange patterns.
If you touch the inside surface, you can feel the tiny dots.
The side buttons are covered and provide good tactile feedback.
As before the camera button is simply an opening in the side of the case.
The camera has a clear bezel around the lenses for protection.
The last phone case in this bunch is the MAGNETIC CASE (Black, Bin #701) It is very sleek with a matte finish. As the name implies, it it has a powerful Magsafe connector in the case.
Unlike the other PEEL cases, the Magnetic Case opted to go with openings for the side buttons.
Here’s another view of the cutouts. Somewhere under that soft fabric is a Magsafe ring.
The Magnetic Case does protect the front screen with a slightly raised edge.
Performance
This is tricky but for me. I like the feel of raised buttons, and a flat, easy to use camera button. Magsafe is a must for me. For this reason, I’m carrying the semi-transparent Bumper Case. It checks off all the boxes for me.
What I like about PEEL Thin Cases
- Many different clean designs
- No obvious branding
- Some have Magsafe
What needs to be improved?
- If they could all have Magsafe that would be great.
