REVIEW – Every time we get a new car the first thing we do is replace the stock carpet mats that come with the vehicle.  We put a lot of miles on our cars (15-20k a year) and have learned from experience that the stock car mats are cheap and will have holes or the carpet will wear out very quickly.  Over the years we have had WeatherTech and a few other Chinese knock-offs that you can find on Amazon.  My husband got a new 2023 Corolla Hybrid last year in October and I got one of those cheaper Chinese floor mats off Amazon.  I quickly realized I got what I paid for.  The passenger side would not stay in place and the rubber edges warped after a while.  So when the Husky X-Act Floor Mats with a lifetime warranty came up for review I jumped at it so I could make the hubby happy!  Is he happy?  Read on and find out!

What is it?

The Husky X-Act Contour Floor Mats are rubber mats designed specifically for your car’s year, make, and model. They 3D laser scan the car floor to ensure a perfect fit. They come with a lifetime guarantee and are made of rubberized Dura-Grip construction.

What’s included?

  • 1 driver’s side floor mat
  • 1 passenger side floor mat
  • 1 combination driver and passenger rear floor mat

Design and features

The driver’s side floor mat has two holes built-in to match the floor mat locking mechanism of the car.  It has grooves to channel the water and edges and cover the sides of the footrest area.  A nice feature on the top left side of the mat is the section that covers the dummy foot pedal.  It goes all of the way up to the top.  Many floor mats only cover about half of that area, which is dumb since a person with a large foot will mess up the carpet on the top of that left footrest.

I took a close-up of their branding and the grooves on the mat.

The back side of the mat is covered with a ton of Stay-Put Nibs to keep it from sliding. This picture also shows the reinforcement of the holes where the locking mechanism inserts. I have had aftermarket mats fail when the holes started to tear, but I don’t believe these will fail in that manner.

The passenger side does not have locking tab holes, but it covers the complete area where your feet rest with raised edges and grooves to channel debris.   The back side is also covered with the Stay-Put Nibs.

The backseat mat is a single piece that covers the driver’s, passenger’s, and middle areas of the backseat floorboard. Again, there are raised edges, grooves, and Stay-Put Nibs.

Performance

We have had these floor mats in my husband’s car for over two weeks.  They have performed great.  The picture below shows the driver’s side floor mat installed.  You can see how high up the left side of the mat goes.  It also covers the entire area under the brake and gas pedals.  The mat ‘cups’ the whole foot area and would trap any liquids that spilled there or came off your shoes.

This is a picture of the passenger-side floor mat.  You can see how well it molds to the foot compartment.

Finally, here is a shot of the back-row floor mat.  You can see how it covers the entire floor, including the middle hump area.  The front of the mat goes several inches under the front seats for excellent coverage.

What I like about Husky X-Act Contour vehicle floor mats

  • Perfect fit
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Easy to clean

What needs to be improved?

  • They are a bit pricey when compared to other top brands like WeatherTech.

Final thoughts

My husband and I have been very happy with the Husky mats.  They stay in place and fit the car floorboards perfectly.  They do cost a bit more than WeatherTech, but I also think that they give more coverage on the driver’s side dummy pedal area.  I don’t think you can go wrong purchasing these for your car.

Price: $254.98, but there are discount codes out there to get you 10% off and make the total $229.48
