Bowers & Wilkins rethinks personal audio – the new Pi6 and Pi8 Earbuds

NEWS – Today, Bowers & Wilkins is introducing two all-new true wireless earbuds, the Pi6 and Pi8, developed by the same team responsible for the popular Px7 S2e and Px8 headphones.

With their all-new industrial design and completely revised mechanical, electronic and acoustic engineering, Pi6 and Pi8 are the most comfortable, fully featured earbuds B&W has made. 

Built on the same core platform as the Pi8, sound quality of the new Pi6 has been compared with that of the Pi7 S2, B&W’s previous flagship model.

The new flagship Pi8 features all-new 12mm Carbon Cone drive units similar to those used in the Px8 over-ear headphones. The Pi8 has both aptX and aptX Lossless, the latest wireless headphone transmission technology. The Pi8 also incorporates a dedicated DSP, DAC and amplification.

Both Pi6 and Pi8 have IP54-rated protection for the earbuds—good for sweating and water splashing.

The design of the new Pi6 and Pi8 feature an all-new form that delivering comfort and fit with improved noise cancellation. Bluetooth pairing uses an upgraded antennae offering simpler connectivity. Pi8 users can access a five-band advanced EQ function to fine-tune the sound. If desired, the EQ can be easily turned off at the touch of a button.

The top of each earbud contains a large capacitive touch sensors that improve the responsiveness and reliability of touch-based interactions. 

The charging cases have been reshaped to make them slimmer and easier to slip into a pocket.

In addition, the Pi8 Smartcase retains its innovative Wireless Audio Retransmission technology introduced in the Pi7.

The Pi8 adopts new noise cancellation to cancel as much unwanted noise as possible without impacting the musicality of the performance.  

Battery life is improved. Pi6 delivers 24 hours in total. Pi8, with its upgraded DSP/DAC, offers 20 hours of total use.

Pi6 will be offered in Storm Grey, Cloud Grey, Forest Green and Glacier Blue, while Pi8 is offered in Anthracite Black, Dove White, Jade Green and Midnight Blue.

The new Pi8 will be available today for $399. The Pi6 will be available from early September at $249.
