REVIEW – Pets provide their owners comfort, support, joy, encouragement, and many other emotions and experiences. They can also shed hair like there is no tomorrow. The Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer collects hair from high-quality brushes as the pet is groomed and trimmed. Read on to see what I think!
What is it?
The Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer is a canister vacuum with attachments that are designed to be run through your pet’s coat to collect hairs and dander. The attachments also include an electric trimmer that is powered by the vacuum to trim excess hair from your pet. The vacuum also includes a suction lance to help clean up hair from upholstery cracks and seems as well as a lint brush that can be used to collect hair that is adhered to surfaces. The vacuum is high powered but operates quietly to limit disturbances to your pet. A HEPA filter included in the design limits the release of allergens from the vacuum as it is operating.

Design
The design of the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer is an upgrade from their previous model. The vacuum storage capacity has been increased from 1 l to 2 l, the suction has increased, the noise has decreased, the controls are easier to adjust and the hose is longer. All of these improvements are aimed at making the grooming experience more pleasant for the owner and the pet.
The Vacuum is designed with storage in mind. When not in use, the system has a place for the hose to be coiled against the outside of the vacuum housing. Each of the accessories has a dedicated storage post that is attached to a removable tool storage stand. Sadly there is no dedicated storage for the clipper combs. The removable electrical cord fits into the base of the unit and can be wrapped around the unit when not in use. The whole assembly, with tools and stand, can easily be carried by the dustbin handle since it only weighs 5.5 lbs.
When the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer are being used the hose easily unwinds from the storage clip. The hose is mostly transparent so that it is easy to see if there are blockages inside. The hose also carries the electrical supply for the clippers. To use the hose storage, wrap the hose around the vacuum in a clockwise manner and behind the tools.
The vacuum applies up to 10500 Pa suction to the hose and tools. The items that the vacuum picks up: dust, mites, hair, fur, and allergens, are retained first by a perforated metal plate, then a fiber filter and then by a HEPA filter. The filtration scheme is similar to that used by dozens of robot vacuums and this should be adequate for pet fur since this allows a lot of air to flow through it.
The use of the accessories is easy. If your pet is used to a FURminator Undercoat Deshedding Tool then they should be used to the de-shedding tool that comes with the vacuum. This tool has a spring return plastic rake that guides the pet hair into a vacuum nozzle located below the tool.
If your pet is used to a brush similar to the Hertzko Pin Brush for Dogs and Cats then they should be used to the grooming brush. The brush has plastic-topped bristles so that it is not pulled into the skin of the animal by the force of the vacuum. The bristles are tilted so that it has a different feel it is used in a forward stroke or a backward stroke. A spring-loaded guard pushed the hair off the top of the bristle and into a vacuum nozzle located in the center of the tool.
The electric clippers have five clipping guides to allow the user to estimate the amount of hair or fur being cut. The clippers themselves have a fine adjustment between 0.06 mm (nearly to the skin) and 1.2 mm (1/16″). One downside is that the shears on the unit are made of plastic and there does not appear that a replacement part is available.
The high vacuum setting can lift the hair or fur a bit to the clippers but it is not drawn up into a defined hair-cutting chamber like it is on a Flowbee or Aircut. While using the clippers is easy, some experience with cutting hair helps before starting to use this device.
The delinting tool is one of the best features and removes lint almost as well as an adhesive roller. The suction wand is similar to an accessory that typically comes with a vacuum cleaner but it is a nice addition to have at hand with the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer.
When the dustbin is full a blue release tab above the suction control allows the basket to be removed by tilting it back from the blue tab. Pressing a release on the base, opposite the blue tab, causes the base to drop down and releases the contents of the dustbin. The blue tab may need to be prodded to release the base door.
Setup
The assembly of the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer is easy. The accessory storage part snaps onto the base but it is also removable. The vacuum snaps into the base.
Performance
I like the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer. I think that it is a great quality vacuum and will help lower the amount of hair that my dog leaves around the house. I also think that the trimmers would be a useful tool for keeping the hair on my dog’s chin from being too harry and getting wet while she drinks. My dog, Rosie, does not share my enthusiasm for the Neakasa P2 Pro pet hair vacuum and trimmer. She is a bit skittish about the noise the vacuum makes and doesn’t quite like the feeling of the brushes. I guess that even the most objective review of a gadget can be quashed by your pet’s gut reaction.
What I like
- Great combination of clippers, brushes, and cleaning tools
- Quiet and powerful
What I’d change
- Replacement blades for the clippers
- Storage for clipper guides
Final thoughts
Pet hair can be a real problem for some breeds, especially those with thick undercoats that shed in the summer. The combination of brushes, trimmer, and vacuum offered by the Neakasa P2 Pro can help manage and control the amount of hair shed by your pet. Try using a hose from a vacuum near your pet and if they are ok with it this may be a device they may like using. Try using the brushes first, then try using the brushes attached to the hose, then try the vacuum.

Wish there was a 9mm comb attachment for clipper head as that is the length I’ve favored when using my regular clippers while grooming my doodle.
