REVIEW – Ever since I tried an air purifier to help with my kids’ allergies that often led to asthma attacks, I have been a fan. The use of air purifiers has changed our lives in my household for the better and I am always ready and willing to test a similar new device. Enter the EnviroKlenz Air System Plus air purifier.

The EnviroKlenz Mobile UV Model is available in black or white. On the front, there are the controls and on the back, there is a vent at the top and the power cord at the bottom.
Two air filters/cartridges are included. According to the manufacturer, theEnviroKlenz Air Cartridge is effective against toxic or noxious odors and chemicals through our proprietary “Adsorptive Neutralization” process. The EnviroKlenz Air Cartridge is designed to last 6 months. Two UV bulbs are also included.
Performance
Once you take the device out of the box, you slide open the back and install the filters/air cartridges and the UV bulbs.
According to the manufacturer: “The EnviroKlenz Air System Plus is designed to take air in through the top of the powder-coated metal housing. As the air is pulled into the top of the system, it moves through the EnviroKlenz Air Cartridge where viruses, bacteria, and chemicals are trapped and removed by the patented earth mineral technology.
The true power of the EnviroKlenz technology is equipped in the 14x14x1 EnviroKlenz cartridge. The earth mineral technology has been tested by a third party and validated to remove 99.9% of bacteria, mold, and viruses as small as .025 microns, while also neutralizing airborne chemical contaminants and VOCs.
The last stage of filtration includes a medical-grade HEPA filter. Here, any remanence or renegade particulates are trapped. The UVC lights shine on the HEPA filter, cleaning the interior of the system as well as the surface of the HEPA filter.
Finally, the quiet but efficient motor distributes nothing but clean air back into the environment.”
The video below shows the Air System in action including a demonstration of the noise generated for each level. Do keep in mind that the microphone on my iPhone makes it sound way louder than it is. On the Whisp-Air setting, it is relatively quiet.
When I moved into my new home, the basement had been locked up for a while and it smelled musty and dusty even after opening the windows every day. The fact that I now have moving boxes stored in the same space does not help. Within a few days of running this Air System around the clock, the air quality has drastically improved and has continued to be fresh and clean with no remnants of the dusty and musty smell. It just works.
I do think that this Air System will work well in both residential and business environments. I do wish that there was a bit more of an attractive model for the home.

Final thoughts
The benefits of a good air purifier can always be felt by those who have experienced the difference it makes. The EnviroKlenz unit cleaned the air in my basement until it felt clean to take a deep breath. While I do not know much about the technology it uses, I know that it works for me!

I also got the UV model. My unit has a 1 1/4 inch gap between the VOC filter and the back of the unit, and most of the air just passes between the end of the filter and the case, rather than actually going through the filter. I can also see a bright blue glow coming from the vents when the UV-C lights are on. I’m returning it and getting the original model without UV.
