NEWS – Do you have mailbox thieves or maybe just eager to get your mail? The Ring Mailbox Sensor detects motion and sends you a notification every time your mailbox is opened. The sensor measures 2.56″ (65 mm) x 2.44″ (62 mm) x 1.47″ (37 mm), comes with mounting screws and bracket as well as adhesive tape, requires 3 AAA batteries AND the Ring Bridge to work. Using the Ring app, you can even link it to Ring Smart Lighting, Cameras, and Doorbells to add additional protection. You could also use this sensor on other things like a shed. Sound interesting? The Ring Mailbox Sensor + Bridge is available from Amazon for $49.99. If you already have the Ring Bridge and only need the Ring Mailbox Sensor, it is available from Amazon for $29.99.

I need something like this that doesn’t require a connection to my home network because my mailbox is about a quarter of a mile from my house!
I used to live in a rural area and had the exact same situation! Even though my mailbox isn’t too far from my house now, I’m not sure that WiFi reaches that far, so this is a pertinent concern…
I have the SAM (Smart Alert for Mail) that does much more and also does not make you buy in to the privacy and security riddled Ring ecosystem. It does not require WiFi at the base station unless you want to use the SMS and email features. However, I don’t believe that you will find any that reliably work over a distance of a quarter of a mile…
Tom – I wasn’t aware of SAM. Thanks for the info!
I wish Wyze would come up with something. I have two Ring doorbells, but I’m hoping to get some other brand eventually and I really want a mailbox notification.
Brandon – You could probably contact Wyze and make a suggestion for a mailbox device – they might be receptive to the idea.
