NEWS – Bluetooth speakers are a dime-a-dozen right now, but it’ll take more than a dozen dimes to put Sono’s latest speaker in your house (or car, or picnic table, etc.). Originally known for its extensive selection of network-connected speakers, Sonos has expanded into home theater audio and components, along with soundbars and subwoofers. Their latest entry into the home audio market is the Move: a portable Bluetooth speaker.
The Move is Sono’s first product that will work on WiFi or Bluetooth, so you can take it with you when you….”move”. Although portable, it is by no means small at 9.44 inches high by 6.29 inches wide and 4.96 inches deep. Including the battery, the Move weighs 6.61 pounds. To assist you in carrying it around, the Move has a handle build into the speaker enclosure. Although the sizes of the drivers are not listed, the Move has one downward firing tweeter and a mid-woofer that’s built into the cabinet. Driving those are two class D digital amplifiers.
Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are built-in so if you’re on WiFi, you can get all of the voice assistant options you’re used to having. It also works with Apple Airplay 2 on devices with IOS 11.5 or higher. Sonos states that the battery will last approximately 10 hours per charge. It comes with a recharging ring that the Move sits in while on power.
The Sonos Move is currently available on Sonos and Amazon for $399.00.
