OPPO’s new 33W Pocket Charge Super Flash Charge Power Bank 10000 takes a different approach. Along with a 10,000mAh battery and charging at up to 33W, OPPO says compatible ColorOS devices can display additional information about the power bank directly on the phone.
The charging hardware follows a familiar formula. What makes this model more interesting is the software connection between the power bank and OPPO’s phone ecosystem.
ColorOS shows more than four LEDs ever could
OPPO says compatible ColorOS devices can show the power bank’s remaining charge, battery health information, and real-time temperature.
That is potentially more useful than relying solely on the four LED indicators built into the battery. Battery-health information could become particularly interesting as the pack gets older, since rechargeable cells gradually lose capacity through normal use and aging.
There are still unanswered questions. OPPO has not provided enough information to establish exactly which phones will support every monitoring feature or how detailed the battery-health information will be.
Until the product receives more real-world testing, the ColorOS integration is best treated as an extra monitoring feature rather than evidence that the power bank will last longer or perform better than competing models.
USB-C and USB-A can each reach 33W
The Pocket Charge contains a 10,000mAh battery rated at 37Wh and has one USB-C port and one USB-A port. Either port can deliver up to 33W when used individually. Connect two devices simultaneously, however, and the available power changes: OPPO lists a combined output of 5V/4A, or 20W.
OPPO also lists support for several charging protocols, including SUPERVOOC, USB PD, PPS, QC, and UFCS. That gives the power bank broader compatibility than a charger designed around one proprietary fast-charging system.
Actual charging speed still depends on the device, cable, battery state, temperature, and supported charging protocol. A 33W maximum is a capability of the power bank, not a guarantee that every connected phone will charge at 33W.
10,000mAh is not what reaches your phone
Power-bank capacity specifications can be confusing because the number printed on the battery does not translate directly into the amount of charge delivered to your phone. OPPO lists the internal battery at 10,000mAh, or 37Wh. The company also gives the Pocket Charge a rated output capacity of 5,200mAh at 5V/3A.
Those figures are measured under different electrical conditions, so comparing them directly can give the wrong impression. The power bank must convert energy from its internal cells to the voltage required by the connected device, and losses occur during that process.
That is why it would be misleading to divide 10,000mAh by your phone’s battery capacity and claim a specific number of full recharges. Real-world results will depend on the phone, charging voltage, efficiency, temperature, cable, and how the devices manage charging.
Small enough for everyday carry
The Pocket Charge measures approximately 110.6 x 70.6 x 18.1mm and weighs about 204 grams. That positions it as the more portable option alongside the higher-capacity power banks OPPO is introducing around the Find X10 series.
OPPO also includes a short 0.2-meter, 3A braided charging cable. Reports have differed on the precise connector configuration of the included cable, so that detail is better left to the final retail listing rather than assumed from pre-launch coverage.
OPPO says the power bank can automatically recognize low-power devices and use a low-current charging mode suitable for accessories such as earbuds, smartwatches, and fitness bands.
That could make one battery useful for both phones and smaller accessories without requiring users to manually select a special charging mode.
OPPO is emphasizing safety compliance
Portable battery safety has become an increasingly important part of the Chinese market, and OPPO is making compliance with China’s updated requirements part of this product’s launch. OPPO’s current Chinese product material describes the Pocket Charge as meeting the country’s newer national-standard requirements for portable power products.
The distinction also matters outside China. If OPPO releases the Pocket Charge in other countries, buyers should check the certifications and specifications attached to the version officially sold in their region.
One part of OPPO’s charging lineup
The 10,000mAh Pocket Charge is not arriving alone. OPPO has also announced larger portable batteries around the Find X10 series, including 15,000mAh/80W and 20,000mAh/67W models.
Those are separate products with different charging capabilities. Their higher wattages should not be confused with the 33W maximum of the smaller Pocket Charge.
OPPO says the Pocket Charge will be released in China on September 22 at 7 p.m., alongside the Find X10 series launch. OPPO had not announced the power bank’s final price or wider international availability.
Who is the OPPO 10,000mAh power bank for?
The Pocket Charge looks most interesting for OPPO and compatible ColorOS users who want more information about their portable battery than a row of LEDs normally provides. Its 10,000mAh capacity and 33W maximum output are not unusual by themselves. Support for SUPERVOOC, PD, PPS, QC, and UFCS gives the charger broader usefulness, while its 204-gram body makes it more manageable for everyday carrying than OPPO’s larger new power banks.
The biggest unanswered questions are price, international availability, exact ColorOS compatibility, and how useful the battery-health and temperature information will prove in everyday use.
