  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. 1. My work laptop
    2. I would like to see a dark theme, but meh, I only like dark themes 🙂
    3. open device testing; the ability to test devices at random and leave a responses to what we think of said device.

  3. I typically read through RSS on my laptop, though sometimes read the RSS on my phone/tablet.

I haven’t played with the mobile themes much (see “read on desktop or through RSS” above 🙂 ) As such, I don’t have an opinion.

I can’t really think of anything missing. I enjoy the content as it is now.

  4. 1) Read via RSS on either desktop/laptop or mobile device.
    2) Mobile theme looks good when I read the full article to get all of the pictures.
    3) Nothing missing. That’s why I keep coming back. 🙂

  5. Android phone via Facebook app and the Gadgeteer app.

That dark theme idea from Edward H sounds interesting.

  6. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop?
I tend to read The Gadgeteer on my desktop computer. I can enlarge the photos much more easily.

Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme)
So much easier to navigate. I read the site more often now using my phone than my desktop.

What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer?
Do you have bandwidth to do video reviews? I’d like to see comparisons between backpacks in addition to individual reviews. Door locks and other security devices are another area where comparing vendors with video would be helpful.

I rely on the newsletter for those days when I am swamped at work. Been a must-read from the beginning.

  7. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop?
Phone – iPhone SE, usually on Feedly

Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme)
    I do!

What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer?
More intuitive nav categories (bags, bluetooth, devices, etc.) are not helpful to explore efficiently.
    (FYI have also subscribed)

  8. I read on my laptop.
Have not tried the mobile theme, so can’t say.
Can’t think of anything missing from your website.

  9. 1. I use the desktop (actually a Macbook in a dock) to read the Gadgeteer.
    2. I like the mobile theme…but cellular service in my area is so spotty…and I only really have time while sitting at my desk…I do not use this option.
    3. If something were clearly missing from your page/service – I do not think I would visit daily. I do visit daily…so I am happy!

  10. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Desktop
Do you like our mobile theme? yes
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? A place we can rate products. Like a top, user rated, product list.

  11. 1. I use my laptop mostly.
    2. I do like the mobile theme.
    3. I honestly don’t think anything is missing. If I had to be REALLY picky I might say there could be more follow up articles on the ‘long term’ reliability as a result of usage of devices. That’s just being really picky though.

  12. 1. I mainly use my desktop, occasionally mobile phone.
    2. I do like the mobile layout…nice and simple design
    3. Nothing comes to mind re: what is missing

  13. 1. I always read through the desktop. So much more space to see everything.
    2. I have not checked out the mobile stuff because of number 1.
    3. Sometimes the ads are annoying and make the pages slow to load.

  14. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Desktop
Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? I’ve never seen it – no opinion.
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? Political news – and I’m glad its not here ?

  15. 1) I typically read on my desktop/laptop.
    2) I like the mobile theme but the ads/promotions that are mixed in and pop-over are a bit much.
    3) I can’t think of anything really missing. Love the product reviews and insight into some of the more “out-there” products that I have never heard of.

  16. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop? Desktop – I subscribe to the RSS feed and read 100% on the desktop.
Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme) – I never visit on mobile!
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? Can’t think of anything – good content that I enjoy following.

  17. 1. I read most of the articles on my Macbook Pro

    2. The mobile theme is fine. I don’t read much on mobile so I don’t really have strong feelings about it.

    3. More articles about old tech being repurposed.

  18. 1) Tablet (iPad)
    2) Love the new mobile layout. Simple and straightforward. The previous version occasionally frustrated me trying to navigate from page to page.
    3) Could include an occasional video of how the tech is being used.

  19. 1. On my laptop – easier to read – getting old 🙂
    2. Like the mobile layout
    3. As a Grandmother – more reviews of kids items would be great.

  20. I read it on my laptop.
Yes, I like the mobile theme.
The Gadgeteer has extensive information and I could not think of anything that is missing.

  21. 1. Desktop.
    2. I have not seen the mobile theme. I check the website almost daily.
    3. Nothing. It is awesome the way it ils.

  22. *I’m always reading on my desktop.
*I think your mobile theme is very easy to read and navigate.
*How about uploading a poll for readers to submit their own reviews of the products?

  23. 1. I usually use my desktop for reading The Gadgeteer
    2. I don’t know what the “mobile theme” is. I never read on a mobile phone. I’ve used my iPad, and I did not like the iPad view, so I always click “Classic Version”. I find the iPad view difficult to navigate.
    3. I can’t think of anything that is missing, but it could be fun to do a “This Day in The Gadgeteer History” type of thing occasionally. It would be fun to go back and read a review from several years ago, maybe of a PDA or something. I know I can do that on my own.

  24. 1. Generally read on my laptop.
    2. Seems ok – just took a look. Old version was horrible which was why I quit reading gadgeteer on my mobile devices.
    3. Put price up front in articles. I would like to just skip articles for items that end up not being worth their’ price to me.

  25. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop?
Depends: usually old school PC when kicking back after work

Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme)
    Sure its fine

What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer?
More review vidoes and long term use reports (when the hype&novelty have died down) which is the best time to give an honest opinion

    cheers & keep it up!

  26. 1. Desktop
    2. I like the mobile theme but prefer the full Desktop for surfing other links within the reviews/articles.
    3. Long term use reports, especially after 6 months to a year of consistent use. Any additional discoveries about the items used. How someone’s gadget bag changes throughout the year depending on what new product they come to use more (or less).

  27. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop? Desktop
Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? Don’t use it much, but nice when on mobile.
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? More comparative reviews.

    Am a subscriber

  28. 1. Default Device is Phone
    2. I like the theme. No issues with it at all.
    3. Less saddleback leather reviews. Honestly, I have no complaints about content. I appreciate the reviews and the honesty on the products. One direction would be to possible partner up with one of the indigogo or another of these type of crowd-sourcing groups to have exclusive review rights. Could draw more views.

  29. I prefer to read on my laptop because I’ve had scroll issues on my iPhone. I answered both questions with one sentence. :^)

  30. I almost always check in on my laptop.

I have viewed through my mobile browser, and thought it was fine.

I’d like to see a place on the site where we could add our reviews/experiences with the products we’ve found here and then purchased. An opportunity to provide a deeper and diverse feedback database for others to read through if they are on the fence, and one that isn’t paid for, so is honest.

    Thanks!

  31. 1-Read The Gadgeteer on my Laptop (MBP), occasionally on mobile phone (iP6s)
2-Mobile Theme is clean, like the layout of the pictures.
3-Visit the site on near daily basis since 1997 and have enjoyed watching the site evolve. Keep up the good work.

  32. 1) Desktop or laptop depending on which one I catch it on – I read the newsletter and link out to things I want to know more about

    2) I don’t read it on any of my mobile devices

    3) It might be helpful if you had a rating system for your reviews that sums up your opinion… like “8/10″… even a pros/cons summary if you want to really get into it. Still really enjoy them without though.

  33. 1. Home Mac mostly
    2. Don’t really like all the “intrusiveness”… floating Social Media icons, and an add that follows my scrolling, floating in the middle of the page… accidentally hit it a couple of times and off to the adds site. HATE that.
    3. The biggest thing missing? Cooler color for the background. White is so, so, so…. 80’s!
Been a subscriber for ever it seems!

  34. 1. Desktop
    2. Not important to me – rarely access on mobile
    3. Just keep your reviews honest and dependable and you’ll stay perfect:-)

  35. 1. My laptop, a Sager N9150
    2. Yep, it works and looks perfect
    3. Hard question, I don’t think anything is missing.

  36. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop?
    — Desktop

Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme)
    — I do like it. It is clean. I would add a fixed menu so you can access it while scrolling.

What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer?
    — Show the price of the item being reviewed at the top of the post as well instead of only at the bottom.

  37. 1 tablet using Dolphin browser
2 very nice clean uncluttered easy-to-read and well branded
3 my name on the recent winners list

  38. 1, What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Phone, Tablet, Desktop? – I read Gadgeteer on my desktop
Do you like our mobile theme? If not, why? (FYI: I recently changed the theme) – I only read Gadgeteer on my desktop
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? – not sure that anything is missing

  39. Read on desktop PC
Haven’t used the mobile app for a long time, so no comment
Network products, Project Fi review and an update on Republic wireless

  40. 1. Desktop mostly.
    2. I prefer dark themes, when available but the current one is very nice & easy to read.
    3. More in-depth video reviews when it suits the product, maybe even live streams occasionally.

  41. 1. My Laptop
    2. I didn’t know you had an app, so I downloaded it and I must say, I like it and will be using it as well.
    3. I think it is fine just the way it is.

  42. 1. I typically read The Gadgeteer on my MacBook but will also keep up with articles on my iPhone while on the go.
    2. I’m a fan of the new theme.
    3. Gadgeteer merchandise!

  43. 1. MacBook Pro is my default device to read The Gadgeteer.
I don’t like our mobile theme? If not, why? Hard to navigate if I’m looking on my iPhone.
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? More “what I’m carrying” from other contributors.

  44. 1. Phone
    2. I like it…. Easy on the eyes.
    3. I don’t think anything is missing. I love reading about the interesting gadgets you find.

  45. I read the Gadgeteer on my iPhone and also on my iMac when I want to check out a product more thoroughly.
The mobile version looks great on my iPhone screen.
I have subscribed to your Gadgeteer digests for several years and enjoy reading about gadgets and gizmos.
I just checked your Facebook page too.

  46. 1. I usually read The Gadgeteer on my iPhone 6 using the Feedly app.
    2. I do like the current design theme.
    3. Nothing, I think you have a good overall selection of reviews and posts.

    Thanks…

  47. What is your default device to read The Gadgeteer? Desktop
Do you like our mobile theme? I don’t know, I haven’t seen it.
What is the biggest thing missing from The Gadgeteer? Pizza

  48. Vincent Carrière

    1. Full size desktop, big images and the full experience
    2. I haven’t tried it yet.
    3. Nothing that comes to mind. If I visit its because its already great!

  49. 1. Mostly on a computer screen, desktop or laptop
    2. No, I prefer the desktop theme, even on a tablet
    3. Nothing, I like the site the way it is
