It’s a new week, so that means I have a new set of five notable crowdfunding campaigns for you to check out. Click through to check out this week’s list of Kickstarter and Indiegogo projects that have caught my interest.
Audio Nation AirMode Bluetooth Cable
What is it?
The Audio Nation AirMode Bluetooth cable will transform wired headphones into a wireless pair of 4.1 Bluetooth headphones with a range of up to 11 yards. The water and sweat resistant AirMode will include the same features that a wireless headphone can plus two hi-definition microphones that will actively block out wind, traffic and other external noises. It works with B&O – H6, Master & Dynamic – H30 & H40, V-Moda – M100, AIAIAI – TMA2 Marshall – Monitor, Onkyo, Beats, Monster, PSB Speakers and so on. There will also be an earphone version.
Why do I (Bill Henderson) like it?
Until everything becomes wireless, products like Airmode can give new life to wired headphones that otherwise might be left behind in the new wireless world. AirMode can be a solution for Apple iPhone 7 customers who already have an investment in headphones or earphones. In time, other smartphone makes will probably follow Apple’s lead and ditch the headphone jack making the AirMode an even more important accessory.

With less than one month to go, Audio Nation is on its way to achieving its goal of $22,451 for tooling and prototypes. A pledge of £30 (about $37) guarantees one AirMode Bluetooth cable when it ships. Pledges go up from there. Visit Audio Nation’s Kickstarter page for all the details.
Think Ink Pen
What is it?
The Think Ink Pen is an ink pen for people who fidget. The pen is can flex and has magnetic attachments that will keep your fingers busy.
Why do I like it?
I like this pen because it looks like a fun office toy that will keep your hands occupied during brain melting meetings. It doesn’t offer just one way to fidget, it has a bunch of built-in features that will you bend, spin, twirl and twist your way to fidget bliss. It can also accept a number of generic ink refills, but they’ve yet to post a list of those refills.

The Negg™ Maker: The World’s Greatest Egg Peeler
What is it?
The Negg™ Maker is a specially designed boiled egg peeler.
Why do I like it?
Peeling boiled eggs can be a frustrating chore when the egg shell sticks to the egg and you end up destroying the boiled egg in the process of peeling it. It’s not a huge problem if you’re making egg salad and plan to chop up the eggs, but if you’re making deviled eggs, you want to keep the eye looking perfect and not all mangled. This cup solves that problem. I can already tell you that it does work because I’ve been peeling my eggs like this with a glass mug and a saucer over the top. My way is free, but it’s not the easiest thing to do to hold the saucer over the mug and shake the cup with water and an egg inside. I probably won’t order the Negg just because we don’t eat that many boiled eggs at my house, so I can deal with my homebrew method. But if you want a dedicated kitchen gadget to help you peel eggs, this one will most likely do the trick quickly and neatly.

The Spontaneous Pop-up Display (SPUD)
What is it?
SPUD is an ultra portable high resolution pop up 24-inch DLP display that connects to your computer via HDMI or a wireless adapter. It folds down to about the size of a book: 5.64 inches wide, 2.17 inches high, 7.52 inches long (17 cm wide, 5.5 cm high, 19 cm long).
Why do I like it?
The ability to carry a display in your bag that unfolds into a 1280 x 720 resolution 24-inch projector / display that would be very handy for road warriors. It’s like taking a full sized desktop monitor with you in the form factor of a paperback book.

Actofit – Redefining Fitness Tracking
What is it?
The Actofit is a fitness tracker that has advanced motion tracking that can identify 75+ exercises and count reps, evaluate form, measure heart rate, calories burned and more.
Why do I like it?
I have reviewed a LOT of fitness trackers, but this one has a feature that I’ve always wanted in a tracker. The Actofit has the ability to track reps. That’s right, as long as the exercise has arm movement like bicep curls, push ups, dead lifts, and even squats, lunges and calf raises, it can be tracked. And it also tracks steps and heart rate too!
Where can I find more info?
With a month left in their campaign, the Actofit campaign has work to do to meet their funding goal of $50,000. You can pre-order an Actofit starting at $99. After The Actofit campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in December 2016. Visit their Indiegogo page for all the details.

“I can already tell you that it does work because I’ve been peeling my eyes like this”
This sounds really really painful.
Hahahaha! Oops! I’ll go fix that.
I already ordered the NEGG – saw the pro-type in action and it is absolutely genius! This thing really works and for anyone who hates standing over a sink to peel eggs only to be left with shredded whites, this is your next must have kitchen gadget. Can’t say enough!
