Protect your drone on your epic trek

Ready to set down some serious cash on a drone? Most models retail for about $1,000, and whether they are on the ground or in the air, they are delicate gadgets. After reading Dennis’s review of the Lowepro RidgeLine Pro, I clicked over to the Lowepro page and saw they recently introduced this beast: the DroneGuard BP 450 AW. It is a purpose-built backpack for DJI Phantom, 3DR Solo and similar form factor drone and quad kits. It seems to have a similar harness, back panel and straps to the RidgeLine but has an armored main compartment to store a drone, parts, accessories, and up to a 10-inch tablet.  When zipped up the backpack may be laid down and used as a makeshift launchpad. In addition, the backpack also includes an integrated all-weather cover. The pack has an MSRP of $249.95. That may seem like a lot of money, but the price may be justified by the $1,000’s carried inside and the clever way those parts are organized. Visit Lowepro for more info.
