The Misfit Shine was one of the first activity trackers designed to look more like a piece of jewelry than a step counting gadget. Now Misfit is offering a new collection of Shine trackers that make use of light for both charging the tracker’s battery and for attracting envious looks from fashion conscience health nuts. The Swarovski Shine collection pairs a Swarovski signature faceted crystal face with a Misfit’s activity tracker that will automatically track steps, distance, calories burned, and sleep quality and duration.
There are two versions of the new Shine. The clear Swarovski Shine and the violet Swarovski Shine which uses a patented “energy crystal” that uses light to charge the tracker’s battery. Forget traditional charging methods, just put it in the light for 15 minutes and it recharges.
The Swarovski collection is available for pre-order in the US exclusively on misfit.com, and will be for sale this spring in Swarovski retail locations in the US, Hong Kong, China and on Swarovski.com. The non-solar version will be priced at $169.99. No word yet on the pricing for the Violet solar version of the Swarovski Shine.
