I’m apparently lucky, but I never seem to be bothered by staring at a computer or tablet screen for hours. I know many people are plagued with eye strain, dry eyes, headaches, and the like after using a computer for a while. I’m not sure what can prevent the eye strain, other than taking breaks, but these Gamma Ray GR003 Computer Glasses claim to be a preventative measure. The glasses have anti-glare and anti-scratch coatings. The manufacturer claims the glasses will reduce “visual stress caused by prolonged monitor viewing.” The lenses seem to have a yellowish tint, and driving and shooting glasses often have yellow lenses, which tends to block haze and make vision seem sharper. The manufacturer also says you can have the lenses that come in the Gamma Ray glasses replaced with prescription lenses by an optician – which would seem to defeat the purpose of these glasses. (I guess you could have some prescription glasses made with yellow lenses – but then, why would you need these glasses?) Amazon has the Gamma Ray GR003 Computer Glasses with black frames for $29.95 or in amber brown for $19.95.

These look really nice and are way more affordable than other brands. I might give them a try since I use two huge monitors at work (and home), and my poor eyes could use some relief!
